From the edi torWith New Year comes theusual New Years resolu-tions that only last for a

hile and then it is back to our oldbits. Decisions made in the eu-oria of the moment range froming weight, stop smoking, gettingh, changing habits and so forth. For some reason we believe thatxt year things will be better, andat is good, because we need hope.Having a dream and a New Yearsolution are not the same. Havingream is something you makeur own and it does not change.ur vision remains the same afterery New Year and you work to-rds it.

A New Years resolution is limitedto a specific time period, and usual-ly fails.

The realising of your dream de-pends only on you no one else cando it for you. It takes hard work anddedication. Dreams dont work un-less you do. And remember: theprize of a big dream or a smalldream or no dream at all is exactlythe same its the sum total of yourlife.

My prayer and hope is that everydream in your heart may become areality. To all the thousands of youngsters that stepped into thegrown-up world after matriculation, may all your dreams be turned into

y Bee is a bless ingbly one of the hardest things for any working parent, ally working mothers, to do, is leave our preciousen in the care of another while we go out and earn a, especially when we know that person will probablyfar more time with and influence on our children thanght.me as a mother my greatest desire was to find some-that my little boy would not only be nurtured and

in confidence and knowledge, but somewhere that hefeel comfortable and at home.

as blessed to have found all these things in Busy BeeCentre. My little one grew up in their care, going fromer to little boy, and I have marveled at the progress heade since being with them.ng big words in correct sentences, coming home ex-about what he learnt about planets and shapes andrs. Being able to write his name and saying his ABCs.t the same time knowing he got to ride bike and jump trampoline and play ball. They really have found the

ct balance between education and play. And every dayvident in how much my son learns and grows.

Thank you, Diane, for the commitment to the children inyour care and for the passion with which you apply yourself to every task you and the children do. The beautiful decor-ations at the doctors rooms are evidence of the diversityand fun the kids have with you every day.

We are looking forward to more adventures with BusyBee Play Centre this year.

Heart broken over poisened puppyI would like to appeal to the heartless people that poisonedthe three-month-old Fox Terrier puppy because of the al-leged noise that she made. Have you ever thought thatyour deed could have killed an innocent young child if theyhad found the object with the poison in and put it in theirmouth?

In future, please have a heart and think of the horrificsuffering and consequent death that the animal had to en-dure. It is inhumane and I cannot think that one humancould be so cruel.

Year-end f unct ion outst andingWe would like to thank Andricos Pub & Grill for the excel-lent service and quality of catering done at our year-endfunction on 13 December. The quality of the food and theorganising to feed 300 people was outstanding.

The people enjoyed the party, especially the DJ thatprovided the music and whom you also organised (includedin the price we paid per head). Truly good value for themoney spent.

Principal Daan Rossouw said thisar, more than 120 children re-

Not even half of them showed upfor the first day not because they

didnt want to, but because theirparents are poor and opted not tobuy bus tickets on a Wednesday, which would mean they had to payfor a full week. All the children areusually present on the first Mondayof the school year.

This school has so many logistical

problems; the children have somany social problems, and most of them come from such poor families, but still I have never seen children

so happy as at Glory Hill... whereeverybody is somebody special. It may not be the journalistic way

    Joyce Meyer once said: Bitterness

is like drinking poison yourself andexpect somebody else to die, and thisreminds me of the scripture inHebrews 12:15: Looking diligentlylest any man fail of the grace of God;lest any root of bitterness springingup trouble you, and thereby many bedefiled.
