Comparison of fracture resistance
Comparison of chip control
- The fracture resistance of the EcoTurn insert is equal to regular size inserts because it features the same chipbreaker and cutting edge dimensions
- The EcoTurn insert demonstrates the same level of fracture resistance under heavy interrupted machining with 0.118" depth of cut.
EcoTurn inserts demonstrate excellent chip control when working at the same parameters as regular size inserts.

Current: One insert type with P25 CVD grade
Current insert: CNMG 431 type. EcoTurn demonstrates excellent chip control with 0.12" depth of cut. T9115 grade achieves 1.5 times longer tool life.
Current P25 grade is suitable for interrupted parts, but not good for continuous cutting. By using EcoTurn and different type inserts, tool life of each insert drastically increases.
