CELEBRATING BOOK WEEK

SURVEY – ONLINE CANTEEN ORDERING The P & C canteen committee is currently investigating introducing an online ordering system for lunch orders in 2020. The system would allow for uniform shop orders and payment. Coming home with the newsletter today is a short survey to gather information from the school community about whether an online ordering system would be used by parents. The cost would be 29 cents added to each order submitted online. Before school, recess and lunchtime counter sales would still take place.

EXIES OVAL We are very fortunate to have access to the Exies Oval at lunchtime every day. The students are taken to and brought back from the oval, and fully supervised by GEPS staff.

The use of this facility gives us plenty of space for our students to play team games and other sports. Thank you to the Exies Management and ground staff who are very accommodating of our needs.

SPELLING CHAMPIONS

GEPS WINS ZONE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL! Congratulations to all of our athletes who participated the Griffith Zone athletics carnival. We are very proud of the way you conducted yourselves. Thank you! Overall, Griffith East was the champion school on the day, with now 21 students off to the Riverina carnival on the 30 of August. Both Christian Callcut and Jai Kenny were the champion athletes in their respective age groups. Way to go boys! RECORD BREAKER, Christian Callcut, has again shown his serious hops! He smashed the Senior boys High Jump (once held by Mr Kenny) and narrowly missed out on the Long Jump record. For those looking for the date, the State Athletics Carnival is on Wednesday 6 November and Thursday 7 November. To our super Team Manager, Bobbie Ryan, thank you for looking after our athletes on the day – we knew they were in safe hands.

Congratulations and good luck to our Premier’s Spelling Bee school winners who will represent GEPS at the Regional Final which will be held in our school hall on Thursday 12 September 2019.

If you have a child who will be enrolling at GEPS in 2019 and have not yet completed enrolment forms could you please contact the school office.
