update #03- MAY009 easaUK2010 are delighted to announce that the organisation has moved in to the old Moonfish building, 43 Hulme Street which will now be known as easaHQ. We took possession of the building this week and have held our first meeting on the premises and started the work to get the building up to speed after 2 years on laying unoccupied. Part of this work will be the repainting of the outside of the building. The design was opened up to an international competition which drew interest from 5 continents, with over 1500 info pack downloads and entries from as far away as Bogota. The winner was decided by a panel representing Manchester School of Architecture, Marketing Manchester, Manchester Architecture and Design Festival and was chaired by Julian Stott from Ask. The building will form the hub of all easa related activities up to and beyond the summer assembly next year starting with the announcement of the competition winner at our office warming Friday the 15th May from 6pm. All details of easa and easaHQ can be found at www.easauk.net The building has been provided by Ask Developers as part of their Partnership with easa. It sits within Ask’s First Street development, more information can be found at www.colourmylife.com Each summer since 1981, around 400 of the brightest students from every part of Europe have come together for 2 weeks of intense workshops, lectures, exhibitions and events, in the name of exchange of ideas, culture and experience.
