HARMONY DAY AT CHELSEA PS

Yesterday, amid a blaze of orange and traditional costumes from other cultures, Chelsea PS celebrated Harmony Day. Throughout the day the students were involved in a range of activities to promote inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Special thanks to our parents and Chelsea Kindergarten who came along to share the fun of the parade.

TOMORROW IS RIDE TO SCHOOL DAY - COME ALONG AND SHARE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST AND COFFEE!

Chelsea families are great supporters of this day, so pump up those tyres and dust off those walking shoes! Join us for a breakfast and coffee provided by Kingston Council. Even if you live a distance away it’s ‘OK to Walk Part the Way’.

NEW PRIVACY POLICY

The Department has developed a new Schools’ Privacy Policy and related documents for all Victorian government schools to implement by 29 March 2018. This is consistent with Victorian privacy law. The new Schools’ Privacy Policy: Replaces our existing Privacy Policy Ensures our school is compliant with updated legislation Clarifies that all school staff (including Student Support Service Officers, other allied health practitioners and teaching staff) may share personal and health information about a student with all other staff who 'need to know' that information, to enable us to educate or support the student or fulfil legal obligations Allows for personal and health information about students transferring between government schools to be shared with the next (Victorian government) school. Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge for 2018 is well and truly up and running! All students in the school have now

been registered and teachers and parents have started entering books read. Our goal this year is 95% completion up from our

amazing 89% completion last year. Please return your permission slip so your child’s name can appear on the VPRC online Honour

for excursions/incursions, sport equipment and classroom, Art and Korean materials. Thank you to our families who have made

payments. It is much appreciated.

SCHOOL DENTAL VISIT

Thank you to families who have responded to information regarding our upcoming Dental visit.

Please note the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CBDS) may cover this treatment for eligible children. To find out if your

child is eligible under the CDBS please call Medicare on 132 011.

School Dental will also check eligibility of students and inform parents if you are unsure of your child’s eligibility. For children who

may not be eligible for the Medicare CDBS, School Dental is able to see students as private patients. You will be billed at a rate

LOWER than that of Medicare and will be offered payment plans.

We have achieved our goal and we are still going strong… We have 7515 vouchers.

Please continue to bring your voucher along to school and pop them into one of the two boxes outside the office and Birralee. Keep up the great work and thank you for supporting our school!
