General InstructionsStudents should prepare the reports strictly
according to the given instructions.
Separate Reports to be prepared for two
sessions of training. (Report I and Report II)
One report should not contain more than 30
pages.
After corrections, Reports I and II should be
bound together and submitted before the oral
assessment (viva).

For the Final Submission: Print on one side of the paper
For the first submission: Reports printed on both sides of the paper are accepted
Margins:
Left – 20 mm
Right, Top and Bottom – 15 mm
Line spacing : 1.5
DO NOT insert “Header” or “Footer”

Acknowledgements• In this section, acknowledge the
support given by various people to carry out your training successfully.
• Names should be given, with titles (Mr/Ms/Eng etc.), as Last names with Initials or Last Names with First names. (Not only first names)
• Limit “Acknowledgements” to ONE page.

IntroductionThe first paragraph of the Introduction should be about the training session. It should include the correct name of the training organization and the dates of starting and ending of the training session. If there was a training schedule, give details.
Then give, in your own words, an introduction to the training organization with following information.
Management Structure – with an Organization ChartVision and Mission, if availableOwnershipType of organizationMajor functions/ Range of products/ Market share etc.Branches/ Sections etc.Future plans
You may use information available in Annual Reports, Web sites etc, BUT DO NOT DIRECTLY COPY from them.

Main BodyDetails of work carried out during the training period should be given with labeled drawings, charts, sketches, maps, photographs etc. wherever possible. Use passive voice in past tense.
All Figures and Tables should be numbered.; See Instructions.
Divide the main body into several chapters and number them starting from Chapter 2. The break down can be based on different work sites, different activities, different shops, different experiences, training schedule etc.
Write, in your own words, only about what you observed/ experienced during the training period. (Do not write any “Theory”) Use mainly the information that you have entered in the training diary.
You may also use information available in manuals, specifications, handbooks etc. to write the report, BUT Do not directly copy from them.
Pay special attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation marks etc. (Use “Spell checker” or dictionary).

Conclusions• In “Conclusions”, summarise your
training experience highlighting difficulties encountered.
• Elaborate on how the academic exposure you had had at the Faculty helped in following the training programme and vice versa.
• You can make suggestions to make the training more productive, but do NOT criticise any person or organization.
• Limit “Conclusions” to ONE page.
