MEMORANDUM

Efforts are being taken to provide comprehensive, accurate and reliable

in'formation about the State Govt. and the respective Departments through State Portal

(http://tripura.gov.in) and Departmental Websites. The contents in the State Portal and

Dept. Websites are the result of collaborative effort of various Govt. Departments!

Organisations.

It has been noticed that many documents supplied by the concerned Dept. for

uploading in the State Portal and Departmental Web sites are not in Optical Character

Recognition (OCR) format. Text and character of documents having OCR format are

machine recognizable!searchable. OCR format helps visually disabled persons to access

the documents using screen reader tools.

To make State Portal and Departmental Web sites more digital friendly and further

strengthening of websites, the respective Departments! Organizations are requested to

convert contents from existing format into OCR format and upload in the website. List of

the contents that are needed to be converted to OCR format on priority basis is given in

ANNEXURE-I. The concerned Departments! Organizations given in the list are

requested to convert the contents into OCR format and send us for uploading in the State

Portal.
