We invite you to morning and Evening Prayer! Every day Christ Church Cathedral prays for a group of our members by name at Morning Prayer. In the course of the month, we pray for all 750+ names of our members, including you. As well, we pray special intercessions for those who have requested them, and for the needs of the Church and the world. We invite you to be a part of our daily services of prayer, Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m. (Morning Prayer), 12:05 p.m. (Noonday Eucharist), and 5:15 p.m. (Evening Prayer).

Interfaith Thanksgiving Services: You are invited to join diverse people of faith to give thanks for the harvest and help feed those who do not have the luxury of a bountiful Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 21 at 7 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church (7700 N. Meridian St.) Everyone is invited to attend, regardless of religious affiliation. In addition to an offering for the Interfaith Hunger Initiative, canned food donations will also be accepted.

The St. John’s Passion Sacred Arts concert previously listed in the Fall issue of Crossroads for Nov. 11 has been cancelled. Thank you.

Save the Date for Janette Fishell’s organ recital on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 4:30 p.m. Janette Fishell is our Artist-in-Residence, and the Organ Department Chair for the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

CareA message from The Rev. Canon Cathy Gray - Many, many thanks for all the cards, good wishes, visits, and, most especially, for your prayers. I’m not very skilled at sitting quietly and taking very slow walks (I’m more of a speed walker!) but I’m getting used to it and I know I am continuing to heal. I look forward to seeing all of you when I return. - Cathy Gray

Attention Veterans and Service members: The Cathedral Women will be honoring those who are currently serving, and those who have served our country in the past with a homemade poppy flower on Veteran’s Day, November 11. The women will be in the back of the church before each service to distribute the flowers to distinguish those among us who have served our country. If you currently in the military, or are a veteran, please find them and get your poppy! Our heartfelt thanks go to each of you.!

Join us for a hot breakfast and fellowship after the 8 a.m. service today and on the first Sunday of every month. Carl Michaelis will be offering hot biscuits with sausage gravy in the kitchen serving room (inside the doors at the kitchen end of the Parish Hall). Donations are appreciated to help cover the costs of food. There will be no breakfast after the 9 a.m. service today but we’ll be back on November 11 for the Dean’s Forum.

knit it, crochet it, sew it, pick it up on your next trip to Target...but please consider donating a warm winter scarf to a person in need as winter begins! Our middle school youth, with the support of their teachers, Tim and Kelsi, are coordinating this effort to donate cozy gifts of caring for adults and children through Dayspring. You may place your donations in the basket at the back of the church, hand them to a student or formation leader for safekeeping, or deliver them to the church office during the week, now through December 2. However it gets to us, thank you for helping us share God’s love and comfort!

keep the donations coming! Each month, a member of the Missions Committee takes a portion of the items you donate to one of four parishes in our Diocese (St. Mark’s, St. John’s, St. Philip’s and St. Timothy’s). Jacquie Kenton will be taking your donations to St. Philip’s. Thank you for your support of the Missions Committee’s outreach efforts.

Your 2013 Stewardship Journey: This year we added a personal dimension to our annual stewardship campaign. Members of our parish family shared their favorite scripture and a part of their journey with Christ. We hope you enjoyed this spiritual touch and were able to join us on this spiritual journey. We thank all those who brought their pledges in to be blessed today.

Step Five (today) Procession of Pledges – Bring your completed pledge to the service on this Sunday and place it in the collection plate. It will be blessed at the Altar and be put into service doing God’s work. Those who wish to mail their pledge may do so as well but you are encouraged to attend this service of celebration. Pledge forms are available in the pews and at the entrance to the church.

We hope that this process proved useful to you during any time of a personal or corporate (in the sense of one body) challenge.

Send out Your light and Your truth, O God, that they may lead me, and bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling.

AMEN
