Our Great Leader Hon. Sharad Pawar and his elder brother Late Padmashri Dr. D.G. Alias Appasaheb Pawar founded the Agricultural Development Trust in the year 1971. The activities of the Trust are focused around agricultural extension work and education for girls and truly prove to be a living memorial of the mother of our great leader.Educational campus at Shardanagar has been named after Late Shardabai Pawar, mother of Hon. Sharad Pawar and Dr. Appasaheb Pawar. Dr.Appasaheb Pawar thought of education of women. Farmers would not send their girls far away for education for the reason of safety and security. Due to this, the percentage of girl education was meager in the villages. Dr.Appasaheb thought of a residential educational complex for girlsl and thus Education College for women started in 1989 at Shardanagar.Today in Shardangar Educational campus about 6000 girls are seeking education in different disciplines and getting placements in renouned fields. Honerable Mr.Rajendra Pawar and Mrs. Sunanda Pawar diversified and flourished the activities of the trust in various fields like environment , education , food processing, new experiments in agriculture, Self Help Group for women, Srujan the cultural youth festival, Bhimthadi Jatra-a fair for the sale of articles of Self Help Group and new methods of water conservation. The Agricultural Development has became a unique conglomerate helping people right from agriculture to education and health to entrepreneurship. Striving efforts to make people educated, competant, skillful are resulting in awesome development of Baramati.

About the trust

The overall development of agrarian and rural community has been the prime concern of Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati. It has undertaken several projects for the development of agriculture in Baramati Tehsil, such as water conservation, drip irrigation, poultry, dairy etc. Shardabai Pawar Educational Complex was a dreamchild of the founder chairman of the trust Late Dr. Appasaheb Pawar which is bloomed fully now as a seat of education for women in rural area. More than 6000 girls are getting education in this campus from LKG to PG under one roof. Healthy practices and safe and secure environment for all round development of the girls has been our priority. We aspire to make our pupils to be responsible citizens of this nation, successful entrepreneurs and service providers contributing for the development of their families and society. The exhibition ‘Krishik’ was an innovative step towards empowering and awakening the farmers in the state. The programme ‘Swayamsiddha’ has been gaining good response from all corners of the state and it has been proved as a good platform for inculcating leadership among the girls. Bhimthadi Jatra has inspired many self help groups to utlise their entrepreneur skills and to became. All these social activities and excellence in academic curriculam has created trust among our students and parents which is incredibile. There are many promises to keep yet in this realm of women’s education and we assure that we would not rest until we achieve our goal of entire women empowerment true of its sense.

Shardabai Pawar Mahila Mahavidyalaya, since its establishment,

striving for excellence in academics. Under auspices of Agricultural

Development trust college has just completed 25 yrs in quality

education.

Keeping space with mission and vision college has crerated quality

benchmarks in education. Recently, as a result of targeted policies of

Agricultural Development Trust & targeted efforts of the college staff &

Students college has been quality stamped by NAAC, Bangalore with

highest 'A' grade.

The foundation of the institute is agriculture based has given ample of

opportunities to college staff to connect & relate the activities to

community service.

We are living in digital era. The educational systems and

processes are greatly influenced by the incredibly rapid technological

changes. Accordingly institute has provided enough ICT infrastructure

for staff and student development.

The recent focus on the knowledge of the mechanics of

effective teaching overlooks the complex and significant human

dimension that exists when students & teachers come together. A unique

personality of teachers and students make the great difference in the

long run depending on how they regard each other.

While selecting a course from prospectus, experienced

students know that it will make the difference in the life long run. Also she

knows that giving information about the professors teaching the course

is much more useful than reading the course description. All the best

possible options in the curricula with committed professors making

learning as knowledge constructing experience are in space with quality

education. Consistently we are trying to provide learning as the best

experience to the students. Classroom learning (c-learning) is totally

blended with e-learning (electronic learning), m-learning (mobile

learning), u-learning (Ubiquitous learning). Now we are approaching to

new dimensions of learning along with newest trends of we-learning.

We-learning is collaborative learning approach which will include online

learning applications like flash notes, study blue, flipped classrooms,

gamifications, mentor-mentee tie up, teacher parent scheme etc.

Online admission processes we are introducing from this year to

minimize the trouble of parents & students and to make the access easy.

Prescribed syllabi of the different courses are supplemented with

various co & extra curricular activities with value & skill based modules.

I hope students and parents will welcome this prospectus (Information

brochure) to select and design their academic career.

FACILITIES :

Hostel

An important part of the infrastructure at the educational complex is the hostels. Well furnished and well- equipped hostels for girls and boys that can accommodate about 2000 students are provided on the campus. Strict discipline, safety and security arrangements, and reasonable fees have developed trust among parents from all over the State, Generator backup, treated water, communication center, recreation hall, medical and health facilities are important features of our hostels.

It may be noted that the hostel facility has significantly contributed to the growth of the college. Owing to the reputation of the hostel with its security the farmers in the surrounding villages have developed a profound trust in the College. There are farmers whose daughters could not have availed of collegiate education as their place of residence is a remote one or lacks easy accessibility and is difficult for commutation. Farmers are very keen on getting admission to their daughter to this girls college and its hostel. They just pay the fees and rest assured of the best education in the area. Recently as a social responsibilities Trust has started giving free food, accommodation and education to 100 girls every year.
