The Food Pantry is asking for specific donation items for the month. We hope with will make things easier as we stock up to feed families throughout the year! This month we are asking for:

Egg Noodles & Toilet Tissue

Do you have a special trade or skill? Plumber? Electrician? Painter? General maintenance? Something else? Are you looking for a place to serve & give back? We NEED you! We are currently working to compose a Facilities Team made up of people just like you!

All that is needed are your skills, occasional time (as needed basis), and willing heart. We provide the parts & some tools (if needed). Some examples of current needs are replacing ceiling tiles, patching drywall, replacing bathroom door handles, and fixing toilets. If you feel you are lead to serve in this ministry to keep our GCC home in great shape and welcoming for all who worship & visit, please call or email the office with your current contact information and where you are willing to help. Thank you!

Our GCC students will be sorting the cards. If you would like to make a donation to the student ministry, we have provided a donation box in the lobby. Thank you for your support!

1) Drop your cards off by 9:30 AM December 13th in the box provided in the lobby. Cards must be sorted in alphabetical order and rubber banded together.

1) Address cards only to those who regularly attend.

2) Please do not bring cards in late... cards dropped off after Dec. 13th may not reach the intended family.

The Georgetown Christian Mission Team has initiated a project to help the homeless in our community by putting up a "Tree of Hope" in the foyer of the Georgetown Christian Church. Our members are encouraged to participate by picking an item or item(s) from the "TREE OF HOPE”, purchasing the item(s) on the back, and returning by December 13th (final collection) with the tag from the tree. GCC members can pick an item(s) from the tree to provide some basic items to our homeless population in the Kentuckiana Area.

Homeless peop le a re more abundant in our area that you might realize. Haven House is a shelter in Jeffersonville that provides short term housing for about 75 people on a consistent basis, and in the winter are always at more than capacity. Exit 0 has approximately 187 clients at the present time. Exit

0 assists the homeless population in Clark & Floyd County plus Louisville. If you want to find out more, the website is www.Jesuscaresatexit0.org.

One of GCC's Life Groups has started serving meals recently to help the less fortunate. The "Tree of Hope" is another way that individuals can do a little which will help a lot. Items are listed on the back of the tags such as: batteries, boots, blankets, hats, coats, scarfs, gloves, socks, 2 or 4 man tents, baby wipes, sterno stoves and fuel, ramen noodles, tuna packs, toilet paper, deodorant, disposable razors, shave cream, shampoo, plastic forks and spoons, tarps, gift cards, and bikes.

God has chosen prayer as a primary way of releasing his power into the lives of His children. We do not know why, but we know that He is moved by the prayers of His kids. Will you join in at least one of the prayer ministries available at GCC and then pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ? Current GCC prayer ministries include:1) E-mail prayer list receives Sunday morning prayer requests written on back of attendance sheets as well as mid-week r e q u e s t s . E m a i l M e g a n a t [email protected].

2) Phone Tree prayer list receives urgent prayer requests (deaths, emergencies, hospital visits, etc.) by pre-recorded phone message. Call Megan at 951-2240 to get added to the phone tree list.

3) Sunday Morning Prayer Partners pray during either worship service (or Sunday School) with a couple of others - or by walking the halls of the building during the service. To become a Prayer Partner, call Norma Flock at 951-0228.
