Microsoft and the Dynamics 365 team are dedicated to enabling ISVs, Partners and customers to

build and focus their efforts in vertical industries in a streamlined approach. The accelerators will

help provide a uniform platform for those who wish to connect, embed or extend the Dynamics

365 platform and Power Platform.

This documentation provides a walkthrough of the key dashboards and flows within the

Manufacturing solutions.

Test Drive Walkthrough Guide for Manufacturing Supply Chain

Accelerator Join us on a journey through the eyes of John a Business Development Manager for Fabricon an

electric wire manufacturing company. Gill is the technical IT administrator for Fabricon. Bill is the

Procurement Manager for Contoso USA, a manufacturur of robotic arms.

Bill often needs new suppliers as his robotic arms are design to order and usually require many

unique parts. Bill and Contoso USA believe in doing business with companies that are sound

financially, take great pride in quality, and align to their enviromental and sustainability values.

Test Drive Personas

1. Procurement Manager: The manufacturing procurement team and leadership will

manage who is an approved supplier and the ongoing relationship with the various

supplier.

2. Procurement IT Administration: The manufacturing IT team will ensure that JSON/EDI

and or any other method of electronic communications along the supply chain will

happen in a safe, secure, and scalable way.

3. Supplier Business Development Manager: The supplier business development

manager looks to engage the manufacturer and become a new supplier.

4. Supplier IT Administration: The supplier IT team will ensure that JSON/EDI and/or any

other method of electronic communications along the supply chain will happen in a safe,

secure, and scalable way.

Step 1: Request Access

John would like to supply wires to Contoso USA. As a new supplier, he goes to their website to

submit a request to start the conversation.

Here he enters his general contact information and reasons for engaging Contoso USA.

Even Lewis, the procurement manager at Contoso USA, receives the information. He

reviews the submission after he follows the workflow to approval.

Even approves Hayden Lopez request and sends an email to John to give him access to

the registration process.

Step 2: New Supplier Registration

Hayden confirms his information and now has access to Contoso’s portal.

Hayden walks step by step through the registration process. With input from his organization,

he completes each step.

Once Hayden completes and reviews the application, he submits his request to Contoso

USA for review.

His submission is complete and now under review by Contoso USA.

After reviewing the information and going through the process flow, Even approves

Adatum Corporation as a new supplier. He is excited to work with Adatum and to have

them as a new supplier of high-quality electric wiring.

Step 3: API Data Integration Onboarding

Hayden is excited about the new partnership and ask Grace, Adatum’s Technical IT

Administrator, to help get API data integrated so Adatum and Contoso can communicate and

send signals electronically.

Hayden adds Grace Owens and her team to the Portal.

Grace onboards through the EDI process since Adatum systems only send signals via EDI.

Grace adds Adatum API end point information and EDI ID.

Grace downloads Contoso authentication certificates and uploads Adatum

authentication certificates.

Grace can now access the EDI Gateway information for Contoso and EDI samples.

Grace can now get setup and send electronic signals and data via EDI.

Through the Supplier Management pages, she checks the status of those messages.

Even calls John to congratulate him on being a new supplier of Contoso USA and share

how to view the account details, including purchase orders, on the Supplier Management

Dashboard.
