Voyager Activities at NPE

Voyager students have been working hard and excitedly to

complete their mousetrap race cars before school ends. Teams of two

students have been reading directions, following the directions, gluing

and sanding the parts to ensure the race cars are working at the end.

When all cars are ready, we will race them to see which one will run

the longest and the farthest.

Voyager students got a treat recently when they were taken on a

field trip to the Rockdale Train Depot Museum. They toured a ca-

boose; saw the dining car where meals were served; were fascinated

by all the model trains running on multiple tracks; and peered into a

Blacksmith workshop where all kinds of metal were forged. The

most enjoyable, though, was the simi-train pulled by a farm tractor

that the students were able to ride multiple times. The tractor driver

even brought the train to the park where we stopped to eat lunch and

have an ice cream bar treat. He drove the students around the park

several times. The students would have loved it if they could have

ridden with him forever.

the school year almost to an end the children

have learned a lot and strive to learn more.

Mrs. Debbie and I enjoy having your children

in this wonderful program. We learn so much

from them and teach them fun educational

activities.

Here at THJ Duck University we are

still practicing our ABC’S and letter

sounds, followed by blending sounds

to make words and also learning rhym-

ing words. We are continuing counting

to 100 by 5’s and 10’s!! Kinder stu-

dents are also reading books on their

own with very little help.

We always want to see our kids coming

to Duck U with a smile and ready to

have a fun afternoon!! The children

LOVE to color, play with the Legos,

building blocks, play basketball, bowl-

ing etc.… and of course we can’t

leave out the IPads. We encourage

our kids to always have duck tales and

bubbles because we are still in school

and have to abide by the rules. With

some of their newfound abilities. In a close race, Jaxon finished first with a score of 63 points with Becca right be-hind at 62. Science club has also started up again opposite Archery, and it's been fun let-ting the kids do some hands-on learn-ing. We've explored rock formations with Starbursts and chemical reactions by making volcanoes and have hopefully learned a few things that will stick with us. In between the scheduled activities we have spent a lot of time playing in the gym and using our imaginations. It is always a joy to watch your kids acting as kids. Thank you for allowing us to spend this year getting to know you and your children. We have a great group with a great dynamic between them and it's been a pleasure to share our time with them. I appreciate that I can look

back fondly on this school year with your kids. The end of the year has come to

our MSI Duck U Extended Day group. We've been making our way to the close by revisiting some old activities and bringing in some new ones. Our Computer Animation group wrapped up the year with the stu-dents taking away some valuable knowledge. Some of our kids have shown a great interest and aptitude in the activity, with a few even de-veloping an interest in animation as a future career. Those who partici-pated have come away with a login so that they may continue their work on their own. Our archery group as also run its course, with the kids learning some exciting new skills. At the end of it all, we had an archery competition so that the kids could show off
