DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM

Get a Head Start on College By taking CCAC classes while still in high school, students can earn college credits that can be used toward a CCAC degree or that can be transferred to other colleges and universities upon completion of high school. Students will get to experience college-level coursework and the college classroom while learning to use resources and services available to college students and gaining access to quality classes taught by experienced faculty.

CCAC offers Dual Enrollment classes in two formats:1. Classes Offered in the High School/Career

Technical CenterCCAC offers college classes taught by high school faculty authorized by CCAC to students accepted for enrollment. For classes taken during the normal high school day and taught by high school faculty, the cost includes a one-time matriculation fee plus tuition for one CCAC credit. For classes taken after the normal school day or during the summer, the cost includes a one-time matriculation fee plus CCAC’s regular tuition and fees.

2. Classes Offered at CCAC Campuses/CentersHigh school juniors and seniors with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher can enroll in courses offered at CCAC campuses and/or centers. There is a one-time matriculation fee plus CCAC’s regular course tuition and fees.

Students wishing to enroll in either format must complete a series of enrollment steps. See how to get started on the next page.

After graduation from high school, students have three options for using the CCAC credits they have earned:

• Enrolling in a two-year CCAC associate degree or short-term certificate program. Students can use their college degree or certificate to enter directly into the workforce.

• Pursuing a four-year degree by enrolling in a CCAC associate degree program. Students can then transfer to a four-year college or university. Recent studies show that students who complete their first two years of college at CCAC and then transfer those credits to complete a four-year degree save an average of $24,000 over public and $57,000 over private colleges and universities in our region.

• Pursuing a four-year degree at any college or university. Students may be able to transfer the credits earned through the program to the college or university of their choice. Students interested in doing so should consult with a CCAC counselor before registering for any CCAC classes.

DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM

Dual Enrollment students will be permitted to continue enrolling in courses at CCAC each term provided they are making satisfactory academic progress as determined by the high school and the college. Students need to submit a high school transcript with their registration forms for each semester.

At CCAC, education is affordable and convenient. Participation in the Dual Enrollment program can help students reduce the time it takes to complete a college degree after graduating from high school and save money in the process. CCAC’s Dual Enrollment program gives students the edge they need to accomplish their goals.

CCAC offers day, evening and weekend classes at eight different locations. Online classes are available, too. For more information, email [email protected], visit ccac.edu or a campus Admissions office:
