Dear Evinrude/Johnson Dealers:This communication is to inform Evinrude andJohnson dealers of a change to the procedure ofobtaining injector coefficient files.Dealers can now download the coefficient files fornew service fuel injectors from a database avail-able on the internet.

SERVICE FUEL INJECTOR KITSA change will be made to the following service fuelinjector kits. This change:

Removes the disk containing the coefficientfiles from the service fuel injector kits.

Adds a Checksum (CS) number to the injec-tor serial number label.

A service fuel injector MUST have a serial numberand a checksum number on the serial number la-bel to download coefficient files from the internet. Coefficient files are NOT available on the internetfor fuel injector kits that include a coefficient disk. For assistance with coefficient file disks in the U.S.and Canada call 1-800-888-4662. Dealers outside of North America should contacttheir regional office.

PROCEDUREInjector InformationEvinrude E-TEC Models: Refer to the serialnumber label attached to the fuel injector electricalconnector.

Evinrude DI Models: Refer to the serial numberlabel etched on the fuel injector housing.

ACCURATELY record the 14-digit Serial Number(SN) and the 5-digit Checksum (CS) number fromthe injector serial number label.

IMPORTANT: Mistakes recording the serial num-ber or checksum can result in downloading the in-correct coefficient file.

All Users1) Enter the fuel injector 14-digit serial numberin the Serial Number box. 2) Enter the fuel injector 5-digit checksumnumber in the Checksum box.3) Select the Download Injector CoefficientFile button.

4) When the File Download box appears,select the Save button.

5) Save the file to a known location on thecomputer. A removable storage device may beused to transfer coefficient files to a servicelaptop if it is not internet capable.

6) Select the Save button to save the file tothis location.

Repeat steps 1 through 6 to download multiple co-efficient files.

All injectors must be installed in thecorrect cylinder by serial number. Improper in-jector installation can result in powerhead fail-ure.

Upload Coefficient Files to EMMUse the Evinrude Diagnostics software Settingsscreen to upload the coefficient file(s) to the EMM. Select the Fuel Injectors tab.Select the cylinder tab for injector being replaced.Select the Replace Fuel Injector button.

Use the drop down menu to navigate to the savedcoefficient file location. The coefficient file namematches the serial number of the service fuel in-jector. Select the correct file for the service fuel injector.

Select the Replace Fuel Injector button to startthe upload process.

An injector replacement Attention window willappear. Select the Yes button to confirm injectorreplacement.

After the upload is complete, the program will re-turn to the Cylinder tab. Confirm the serial number displayed on the cylin-der tab matches the serial number printed on theserial number label of the service fuel injector.

KITS D'INJECTEURS DE CARBU-RANT DE RECHANGEUne modification sera apporte aux kits d'injec-teurs de carburant de rechange suivants. Cettemodification consiste :

supprimer le disque contenant les fichiers decoefficients des kits d'injecteurs de carburantde rechange ;

ajouter un numro checksum (somme decontrle) sur l'tiquette du numro de srie del'injecteur.

L'tiquette de numro de srie d'un injecteur decarburant de rechange DOIT comporter un num-ro de srie et un numro checksum pour permet-tre le tlchargement des fichiers de coefficientsdepuis Internet. Les fichiers de coefficients NE sont PAS disponi-bles sur Internet pour les kits d'injecteurs de car-burant incluant un disque des coefficients. Pour obtenir de l'aide sur les disques des fichiersde coefficients aux tats-Unis et au Canada, com-poser le 1-800-888-4662. Les concessionnaires hors de l'Amrique du Norddoivent contacter leur bureau rgional.
