    Scientific Advisory Committee meeting

    Scientific Advisory Committee meeting (SAC) was conducted at

    KVK, Venkataramannagudem on 27.02.2019. Sri Chiranjiv Choud-

    hary, IFS, Vice-Chancellor & Ex-officio Secretary to Govt. of A.P

    was the chief guest and addressed the gathering in the presence

    of Dr. Y.G. Prasad, Director, ATARI, Zone-X, Dr. R.V.S.K. Reddy,

    Director of Extension, Dr. B.V.K. Bhagwan, Zonal Head, HRS,

    Kovvur, department officials from Agriculture, Horticulture,

    Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, ATMA, ITDA, PHO and other progressive farmers. Scientific staff of

    KVK presented their technical programs carried out during 2018-19 and proposed the action plan

    for 2019-20. Later Dr.Y.G.Prasad, Director, ATARI, Zone-X visited KVK farm and appreciated the

    efforts of KVK staff for the development of farm and support from Dr.YSRHU.

    South India Educational Tour

    Final year B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture students (61 nos.) have

    proceeded to South India Educational Tour from 11.02.2019 to

    23.02.2019. they have visited Indian Institute of Horticultural

    Research, Bengaluru, Hi-tech Horticulture Unit of College of

    Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Central

    Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, Central Plantation

    Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod, Indian Institute of Spice

    Research, Kozhikode, Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Trivandrum, Tamilnadu

    Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Kerala Agricultural University, Vellayani, etc. Dr. V.N.P. Siva-

    ramakrishna, Assoc. Professor (Hort.), Dr. Lalitha Kadiri, Asst. Professor (Agronomy) and Dr. T.

    Ravi Kumar, Teaching Associate (Hort.), CoH, Ananatharajupeta have coordinated the program.

    Dr. R. Nagaraju, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head,

    Dr.T.Nagalakshmi, Scientist (Pl.Path), HRS, Anantharajupeta and

    Dr.M. Jayaprada, Assistant Professor (Genetics & Plant Breeding),

    CoH, Anantharajupeta visited RHWEP Villages at C. Kammapalli

    and K.R. Kandrika villages in Rly.Kodur mandal of Kadapa district

    and explained about biological and chemical control of mango pest

    and diseases and further visited mushroom unit established by RHWEP students and suggested

    suitable measures for successful production of mushrooms.

    Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Programme

    On 24.02.2019, launching of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi

    Programme by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi was

    live telecasted at Krishi Vigyan Kendras and constituent colleges

    of Dr.YSRHU to the farmers in respective districts in the presence

    of officers from line departments.

    Training Program on ‘Organic Grower’

    KVK, Venkataramannagudem scheduled twenty five day’s training

    programme on ‘Organic Grower’ from 25.02.2019 to 21.03.2019

    with financial assistance from SEED AP. Dr.B.Srinivasulu, Regis-

    trar participated as chief guest in the inauguration on 25.02.2019

    and emphasised the importance of organic farming. Dr.R.V.S.K.

    Reddy, Director of Extension explained the various activities in-

    volved in organic farming from sowing to harvesting. The trainees will be exposed to theoretical

    and practical aspects of organic farming. Dr.P. Ramadevi, Master trainer, Sr.Scientist & Head, HRS,

    V.R. Gudem, Dr. E. Karuna Sree, Course Director, Principal Scientist & Head, Dr.V.Deepthi, Course

    Coordinator, Scientist (Agri. Extn.), KVK coordinated the program. In this program,

    R.Nagalaxmayya, State project manager, and K. Ravindra, District project manager, SEED AP have

    attended. A total 40 rural youth were enrolled for the training programme.

    NSS Activities

    CoH, Venkataramannagudem NSS volunteers scheduled camps

    at Ramannagudem and Jaggannapeta villages from 27.02.2019

    to 05.03.2019. The students have conducted socio-economic

    survey of both the villages to identify the socio-economic

    problems of the villages and thus plan the NSS activities accord-

    ingly. On 28.02.2019, Veterinary camp was conducted at Raman-

    nagudem. Student volunteers have actively participated in Swachh Bharat Programme and applied

    bleaching powder near water tanks located at ZP high school and old Panchayat office. The NSS

    volunteers have organized the demonstration of using the electronic voting machine expalined by

    Revenue staff. In the evening NSS volunteers have performed strret play on various themes to

    create awareness among the villagers. They have also conducted a diagnostic visit to paddy fields

    on 28.02.2019. NSS Programme Officers Dr.N.Emmanuel, Associate Professor and

    Dr.P.Subbaramamma, Assistant Professor along with Sri V.Sekhar, Teaching Associate and Sri Sita-

    ram, Physical Director have co-ordinated the programme.

    RHWEP students allotted to HRS, Anantharajupeta were involved in different

    Horticultural practices and explained the importance of bio control agents

    for different pests as part of integrated pest management.

    Research

    Dr. R. Nagaraju, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head, HRS, Ananthara-

    jupeta reported Erwinia rot in jiffy bag grown banana cv.Grand

    Naine. The plants which were planted along with jiffy cocopeat

    bags retained excess moisture and easily attacked by pathogens.

    Advised the farmers to stop excess irrigation and drench the

    infected plants with bleaching powder 20g/l and sodium

    hypochlorite @6gm/plant at 10 days interval.

    Scientists of HRS, Anantharajupeta reported severe caterpillars

    damage to Ash gourd plantation in and around Kodur region of

    Kadapa. Advised the farmers to spray malathion 50EC (or)

    dimethoate 30EC @ 1ml/l.

    Extension

    Training Programmes

    Dr. K. Subramanyam, Principal Scientist (Pl. Path.) & Head, HRS, Mahanandi attended and partici-

    pated a training programme on “Cultivation and integrated pest & disease management in Mango

    and Vegetables crops” at Ramapuram and Pyalakurthi villages organized by Department of Horticul-

    ture, Kurnool on 16.02.2019.

    On 16.02.2019, KVK, Pandirimamidi conducted divisional

    level training program on ‘Improved cultivation practices of

    chilli’ at Kunavaram village of Kunavaram mandal. Dr. D.

    Manohar Prasad, Prinicipal Scientist & Head invocated the

    training program and Dr. R.V.S.K.Reddy. Director of Exten-

    sion attended as chief guest and addressed the farmers

    regarding scope and importance of chilli cultivation in

    agency area. Dr. Sarada, Principal Scientist, Lam, Guntur, explained about high yielding varieties and

    improved cultivation practices of chilli. A pamphlet on “Mirapalo samagra sasya rakshana” was

    released. In this program, Sri Devanand kumar, ADH, Rajahmundry, Sri Mallikarjun Rao, PHO, ITDA-

    Chintur, KVK, Scientists, Horticulture MPEOS and 120 farmers have participated.

    Scientists of HRS, Ambajipeta organized five (20 farmers per

    batch) one day skill training programmes on “Mass production

    of Isaria fumasarosea at field level against Rugose spiralling

    whitefly” sponsored by Department of Horticulture,

    Amalapuram on 21.02.2019, 22.02.2019, 23.02.2019,

    25.02.2019 and 27.02.2019 at Horticultural Research Station,

    Ambajipeta.

    On 18.02.19 KVK, Pandirimamidi has conducted an on campus

    training program on improved cultivation practices of cashew and

    addressed the farmers on canopy management of young cashew

    orchards, method of application of fertilizers in basins, manage-

    ment of flower and fruit drop, integrated management of pests and

    diseases. Sri Bhanu murthy K.C, Scientist (Hort.) coordinated the

    program.

    Dr.M. Raja Naik, Associate Professor (H), CoH, Anantharajupeta has

    attended training program to the farmers as resource person on

    “Protected cultivation of Gerbera, Chrysanthemum and Carnation” at

    Gandrajupalle (V), Gangavaram (M), Chittoor (Dt) on 16-02-2019

    organized by Dept.of Horticulture, Palamaneru followed by a filed

    visit.

    Dr.M. Raja Naik, Associate Professor (Hort.), CoH, Anantharajupeta

    has attended training program to the farmers as resource person on

    “Management of flowering, fruit setting, plant protection aspects in

    Mango, Papaya and production technology of Chrysanthemum” on

    19.02.2019 organized by RHTI, Kadapa.

    Dr.M. Raja Naik, Associate Professor (Hort.), CoH, Anantharajupeta

    has attended training program to the farmers as resource person

    on “Advanced production technology of tuberose, jasmine and

    chandini” at Thimmapur (V), Puttoor (M), Chittoor (Dt) on Sunday

    24.02.2019 organized by Dept. of Horticulture, Puttoor followed by

    a filed visit.

    Smt. G. Sarada, Asst. Professor (Ento.), CoH, Anantharajupeta has

    attended a training program on ‘Production technology of sweet

    orange and acid lime’ on 23.02.2019 at RHTI, Kadapa as resource

    person and imparted “Pest and Disease management techniques in

    sweet orange and acid lime’ to the farmers.

    Dr. K. Subramanyam, Principal Scientist (Pl. Path.) & Head, HRS, Mahanandi attended a training

    programme on “Cultivation and integrated pest and disease management in Horticultural crops” as

    resource person organized by RHTI, Anantapuram on 19.02.2019 and 23.02.2019 at Anantapuram.

    Dr. K. Subramanyam, Principal Scientist (Pl. Path.) & Head, HRS, Mahanandi attended and

    participated a training programme on “Cultivation and integrated pest & disease management in

    Mango and other horticultural crops” at Boyalakuntla metta and Rudravaram villages organized by

    Dept. of Horticulture, Kurnool on 22.02.2019.

    Dr. M. Tagore Naik, Senior Scientist (Hort.), HRS, Mahanandi attended a training programme on

    “Kuragayala saagulo melakuvalu” at Edurupadu (V) of Kothaplle (M) and “Mamidilo pathichavalas-

    ina yajamanya paddatulu” at Gokavaram (V) of Kothaplle (M) organized by Dept. of Horticulture on

    22.02.2019.

    On 18.02.2019, KVK, Venkataramannagudem in collaboration

    with Department of Horticulture conducted 2 one day training

    programs in L.B. Cherla and Y.S. Palem villages of Narasapuram

    mandal on ‘Cultivation and IPM practices in vegetables’. More

    than 100 farmers have participated. Dr. K.Venkata Subbaiah,

    Scientist (Hort.) coordinated the program.

    On 21.02.2019, Dr. T. Vijaya Nirmala, Scientist (Veterinary Science),

    KVK, Venkataramannagudem attended a training program as

    resource person on ‘Kadaknath birds importance and its rearing as

    backyard poultry’ at Bhimadolu village organised by ATMA, Eluru.

    In this program, Assistant Director (Animal Husbandry), ADA and

    Agricultural Officer, Bhimadolu have participated.

    Scientists of HRS, Ambajipeta conducted 6 days skill training

    programme of Friends of Coconut Tree (FOCT) for 24th batch

    (20 nos.) unemployed rural youth with financial assistance of

    Coconut Development Board (CDB) from 25.02.2019 to

    02.03.2019 at HRS, Ambajipeta. Imparted skill training on

    climbing coconut trees with climbing device and scientific

    management practices on crop production, plant protection and quality planting material

    production.

    Method Demonstrations

    On 22.02.2019, Dr. S. Adarsha Scientist (Ento.) and Sri. P. Raja

    Sekhar, Scientist (SS&AC), KVK, Pandirimamidi demonstrated and

    provided critical inputs for management of T-Mosquito bug in

    cashew at Dokkapalem village of Addteegala mandal and

    Lakshmipuram village of Gangavaram mandal.

    Scientific Advisory Committee meeting

    At KVK, Vonipenta

    On 20.02.2018, the technical team of KVK, Vonipenta organized

    2nd Scientific Advisory Committee meeting. Dr. R.V.S.K Reddy,

    Director of Extension attended as Chairman and addressed the

    Scientific Advisory Committee members and stressed the

    importance of KVK and its services and activities for the farmers’

    wellbeing. Dr Chari Appaji, Principal Scientist, ICAR- ATARI, Zone

    –X, Hyderabad addressed the members regarding the role of KVKs in doubling farmers income.

    During the meeting KVK scientists presented the work done during 2018-19 and action plan for

    2019-20. The SAC members including farmers interacted and gave valuable inputs in shaping the

    action plan.

    At KVK, Periyavaram

    On 21.02.2019, 2nd SAC Meeting of KVK, Periyavaram was

    conducted under the chairmanship of Dr.R.V.S.K Reddy, Direc-

    tor of Extension. Dr.K.T.Venkataramana ZRH, Rayalaseema

    zone. Dr.Muneendra Naidu, PC, KVK Nellore. Dr. B. Govind

    Rajulu, Principal Scientist & Head, CRS, Smt.Ananda kumari

    ATMA PD and other SAC Members attended the meeting. Dr.

    Chari Appaji, Principal Scientist and representative of ATARI

    attended the meeting. Scientific staff of KVK presented their progress report for 2018-19 and

    action plan for the 2019-20. The delegates shared their experiences and valuable suggestions were

    given in shaping the action plan. Representative Farmer members have attended the meeting and

    suggestions were given with regard to OFTs, FLDs and training programmes.

    At KVK, Pandirimamidi

    On 28.02.2019, 7th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting

    was conducted at KVK, Pandirimamidi. Dr.D.Manohara

    Prasad, Principal Scientist & Head, KVK, Pandirimamidi

    presented action taken report of 2018-19 and action plan for

    2019-20 and scientists made individual power point

    presentation in their respective disciplines. Dr.R.V.S.K Reddy,

    Director of Extension and chairman, SAC invocated the

    programme and briefed about Scientific Advisory Committee meeting. Dr.Y.G.Prasad, Director,

    ICAR-ATARI, Zone-X, Hyderabad attended as chief guest and addressed on sustainable production

    and management of pest & diseases of Cashew, promotion of Millets, Pulses in agency area, to

    scaleup soil analysis for farmers. In this programme Dr.A. Bhaskaran, Principal Scientist (Soil

    Science), ICAR-ATARI, Hyderabad, Dr.G.Ramanandam, Principal Scientist & Head, HRS, Ambajipet,

    Sri.Devananda Kumar, AD Horticulture, Rajamahendravaram, PHO-ITDA, APD-Velugu, Scientists

    from HRS, Kovvur, Pandirimamidi, KVK, Kalavacherla, MAO from Rampachodavaram, HO’s, BTM-

    ATMA, NGO representatives and representative farmers have attended the meeting and suggested

    in taking up of OFTs, FLDs by KVK.

    Front Line Demonstrations

    On 16.02.19, Dr. R.V.S.K. Reddy. Director of Extension, Dr. D. Manohar

    Prasad, Prinicipal Scientist, Dr. Sarada, Principal scientist, Lam,

    Guntur, Sri K.C.Bhanumurthy, Scientist (Hort.), Dr. S.Adarsha,

    Scientist (Ento.) and Sri. P.Rajasekhar, Scientist (SS&AC) of KVK,

    Pandirimamidi visited chilli var. LCA-625 fields under FLD i.e.

    Demonstration of chilli variety “LCA-625” in agency areas. Crop is at

    flowering, fruiting stage with healthy leaves without any sucking complex infestation and farmers

    were hoping to get 20-25 quintals per acre. Farmers accepted the variety as it yields on par with

    the cultivated hybrids.

    On 22.02.2019, Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate, (Soil Science)

    and Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.), KVK, Vonipenta

    visited Yerraballi village in Mydukur mandal as follow up for FLD

    on Enhancing banana bunch yield through application of N, K and S

    in banana. The scientists collected the field data and feedback from

    the farmers.

    Diagnostic Visits

    On 26.02.2019, Sri. G. Sandeep Naik, Scientist, (Pl. Path.) and Sri. E

    Ravi Goud, Research Associate, (Agri. Extn.), KVK, Vonipenta visited

    musk melon field for diagnosis of pest and diseases incidence at

    Saraswathipeta village of Mydukur mandal. Observed viral diseases

    and suggested removal and destruction of infected plants followed

    by spraying of dimethoate or methyl dematon@ 0.2%.

    On 27.02.2019, Sri. G. Sandeep Naik, Scientist, (Pl. Path.) and Sri. E Ravi Goud,

    Research Associate, (Agri. Extn.), KVK, Vonipenta visited bajra fields for

    diagnosis of pest and diseases incidence at Madirepalli village of Duvvur

    mandal. Observed stem borer infestation in bajra and suggested to spray

    thiodicarb @ 0.1%.

    On 23.02.2019, Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.) and

    Sri. E Ravi Goud, Research Associate, (Agril. Extn.), KVK,

    Vonipenta visited chilli fields for diagnosis of pests and diseases

    at Adireddypalli village of Mydukur mandal. Observed damping

    off disease infection and recommended soil drenching with cop-

    per oxychloride @ 0.3%.

    Dr. P. Rama Devi, Senior Scientist (Pl. Path) and Dr. V.S.L. Saranya,

    R.A. (Ento.), HRS, Venkataramannagudem surveyed the fields of

    farmers growing Japanese mint, lemon grass, palmarosa and san-

    dalwood located in Chilakaluripeta, Narasaraopet and surround-

    ing villages in Andhra Pradesh and suggested suitable control

    measures against the pests, diseases and other problems on

    27.02.2019 and 28.02.2019.

    Dr. L.Ranjith Kumar, Scientist (Ento.), KVK, Periyavaram visited

    watermelon field in Mannegunta village of Venkatagiri mandal on

    16.02.2019 and observed the crop infested with leafminer and

    cucumber mosaic virus disease. Suggested to spray cartap hydrochlo-

    ride 50 SP @ 1.5ml/l followed by dimethoate 30 EC @ 2ml/l along

    with installation of yellow sticky traps @ 5/acre.

    Dr. L.Ranjith Kumar, Scientist (Ento.), KVK, Periyavaram visited

    Thirupathinaidupalli village of Chejarla mandal on 19.02.2019 and

    observed the acid lime orchard infested with citrus thrips (Scirtothrips

    citri) and suggested to spray spirotetramat 240 SC@ 1 ml/l at marble

    stage twice at an interval of 15 days.

    Dr. L.Ranjith Kumar, Scientist (Ento.), KVK, Periyavaram visited

    papaya field at Gollapalli village of Gudur mandal on 25.02.2019

    and observed the leaf distortion symptoms due to papaya leaf dis-

    tortion mosaic disease transmitted by aphids. Suggested to install

    yellow sticky traps @ 5/acre, spraying of neem oil (10,000

    ppm@3ml/l) as preventive measure and removal of weeds followed

    by spraying of acetamaprid 20% SP@ 2g/l twice at 15 days interval.

    On 16.02.2019, Dr.P.Manjari, Scientist (Veterinary Science), KVK, Periyavaram

    conducted follow-up visit to Mannegunta, Petluru and Mogalagunta villages of

    Venkatagiri mandal and observed active Rajasri poultry birds except few with a

    complaint of white diarrhea, closed eyes, dropping wings and inappetance.

    Suggested to immediately administer neodox forte @ 250mg/1.25l water for 10

    birds and supplementation with liver tonic.

    Dr. M. Tagore Naik, Senior Scientist (Hort.), HRS, Mahanandi visited the farmers fields in the

    mandal on 20.02.2019 and observed powdery mildew and bacterial blight in mango and under

    sized banana bunches. Suggested suitable remedial measures to the farmers.

    Farmers-Scientists interaction meeting

    On 16.02.2019, KVK, Venkataramannagudem in collaboration with

    Department of Horticulture conducted Farmers-Scientists

    interaction meeting at KVK Venkataramannagudem on ‘Rugose

    Spiralling white fly management in horticultural crops’. Dr. J. Dilip-

    babu, Director of Research participated as chief guest and Dr. Ra-

    manandam, Principal Scientist (Hort.), Dr. Chalapathirao, Principal

    Scientist (Ento.) HRS, Ambajipeta, Sri. T. Subbarao, DDH, ADH-Eluru and ADH- Jangareddygudem,

    West Godavari and other KVK scientists have participated. In this program the farmers have inter-

    acted with scientists and got their doubts clarified.

    Dr.N.B.V.Chalapathi Rao, Principal Scientist (Ento.), HRS, Ambajipeta

    participated in the meeting at IIOPR, Pedavegi with Dr.R.K.Mathur,

    Director, Dr. Kalidas, Principal Scientist (Ento.) and Dr. Barik,

    Additional Commissioner from Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of

    India, New Delhi about the strategies to contain rugose spiralling

    whitefly and subsequently visited the Kadiyam nurseries to monitor

    the incidence and host range of rugose spiralling whitefly on 25.02.2019 and 26.02.2019.

    Ch. Ruth, Prof. (Pl.Path.), CoH, Anantharajpeta and Dr.K.Sesha Kiran, Asst Professor (Pl. Path.), CoH,

    Venkataramannagudem participated in 5th National Asian PGPR Conference for Sustainable and or-

    ganic Agriculture with a theme on “Eco-friendly Bio-innovations for integrated Crop Management,

    the second ICAR-BSMA (Broad Subject Matter Area) Horticulture

    workshop on restructuring of PG syllabus at BCKV, Kalyani, West

    Bengal from 21.02.2019 to 23.02.2019. The draft syllabus for the

    Department of Post Harvest Technology was framed by Dr.YSRHU under the chairmanship of

    Dr.M.Lakshmi Narayana Reddy, Dean of Horticulture.

    Dr.K.Sesha Kiran, Asst Professor (Pl. Path.), CoH, Venkataraman-

    nagudem participated in 71st Annual Meeting of Indian Phytopa-

    thological Society and National Symposium on "Recent Challenges

    and Opportunities in Sustainable Plant Health Management"

    organized by Indian Phytopathological Society and Department of

    Mycology and Plant Pathology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences,

    Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, U. P from 26th- 28th February, 2019. Appreciation certificate

    was conferred by the Chief Guest Prof. A.N.Mukhopadhyay, Ex-Vice Chancellor, AAU, Jorhat for the

    dedicated and sincere efforts in strengthening the Indian Phytopathological Society.

    Meetings

    Dr. K. Mamatha, Senior Scientist (Hort.), HRS, Kovvur participated in the Kisanmela organized at

    Agricultural Research Station, Peddapuram on 28.02.2019 and arranged an exhibition.

    Dr. A.Devivaraprasad Reddy, Scientist (Fishery Science), KVK, Venkataramannagudem participated

    in the Aqua Tech Expo on 17.02.2019 conducted by the Aqua Tech group at C.N.R. Gardens, Kai-

    kaluru, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh on 16.02.2019 and 17.02.2018.

    Visits

    On 19.02.19, Cashew farmers of Vishakapatnam district visited KVK,

    Pandirimamidi as a part of their exposure visit organized by Dept. of

    Horticulture. Dr. D.Manohar Prasad, Principal scientist & Head, KVK,

    Pandirimamidi addressed the farmers on scope of cashew cultiva-

    tion. Sri K.C.Bhanu Murthy, Scientist (Hort.) coordinated the program

    and explained about nursery management, importance of grafts over seedlings, seasonal manage-

    ment of T-Mosquito bug and blossom blight of cashew. About 32 farmers have participated.

    The faculty members and 2nd year students of of SV Agricultural

    Polytechnic College, Tirupati visited the CoH, ananatharajupeta

    on 19-02-2019. Dr. M. Ramakrishna, Associate Dean and

    Dr. K. Swarajya Lakshmi, Professor (Hort.) explained the

    Students about the research activities and were taken on a field

    visit.

    A batch of 30 farmers on an exposure visit visited CoH, Ananthara-

    jupeta on 20.02.2019 organized by ATMA, Nagari, Chittoor. Dr. V.

    Vijaya Bhaskar, Prof (Hort.), Miss Lakshmi Prasanna TA, (Ag. Extn)

    and Mr. K. Ravi Kumar, TA (Hort.) explained about the commercial

    cultivation of various Horticultural crops.

    Dr.B.V.K.Bhagawan, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head, HRS, Kovvur,

    Ms M.L.N.Nandini, RA (Pl. Path.), Dr. B. Ramesh Babu, Senior Scientist

    (Hort.) and Dr.P.Ashok, Senior Scientist (Hort.), HRS, Venkataraman-

    nagudem participated in the 6th Annual Group meeting of AICRP on

    Fruits from 14th to 16th Feb,2019 at AAU, Jorhat and presented the

    technical programme of work.

    Dr. P. Rama Devi, Senior Scientist (Pl. Path) and Smt. N. JanakiRatnam, R.A. (Pl. Path), HRS, Venkata-

    ramannagudem visited IIOPR, Pedavegi to discuss about the mass multiplication procedure for the

    preparation of liquid formulation of Isaria fumosorosea, an Entomomopathogenic fungus against the

    rugose spiralling whitefly (RSW) of coconut with Dr. P. Kalidas, Principal Scientist (Ento.) on

    20.02.2019.

    Engineering diploma students (50 nos.) of VISIT College, Venkatara-

    mannagudem visited KVK, Venkataramannagudem on 19.02.2019.

    Scientific staff interacted with students and explained about different

    demonstration units of KVK like azolla unit, vermi compost unit,

    poultry farming, vegetable seed production plots, Horticultural nurs-

    ery etc.

    Sri. Nookasani Balaji, Hon’ble Member, Board of Management, Dr.YSRHU visited Horticultural

    Research Station, Mahanandi on 26.02.2019 and the scientists explained about the research

    activities as well as infrastructure facilities at HRS, Mahanandi.

    Final year degree students of Government Degree College, Jangareddygudem have visited the CoH,

    Venkataramannagudem on 28.02.2019. Dr.P.Gangadhar Rao, Teaching Associate explained about

    the college activities and crops in the instructional farms to the students.

    On 20.02.2019, 152 students from Narayana e-techno School, Tade-

    palligudem visited KVK, Venkataramannagudem. Scientists ex-

    plained about the latest production technologies including nursery

    management, cashew grafting, floriculture, bee keeping, fodder pro-

    duction, vermi compost production, improved sheep breeds man-

    agement and backyard poultry birds.

    (Rtd.), UHS, Bagalkot and Dr. P. Karthik Reddy, Asst. Professor, SVAC,

    Tirupati visited CRS, Petlur on 28.02.2019. Dr.B.Govinda Rajulu,

    Principal Scientist (Pl. Path.) explained about ongoing research

    activities and new dry land horticulture crops that were planted at

    CRS, Petlur.
