The DPWH is mandated to undertake (a) the planning of infrastructure, such as national roads and bridges, flood control, water resources projects and other public works, and (b) the design, construction, and maintenance of national roads and bridges, and major flood control systems.

Cagayan River Sub-Project:Construction of Revetment structures for the most eroded river banks located at Brgy. Alibago and Cataggaman, Tuguegarao City to address serious bank erosion resulting to loss of valuable lands in the targeted areas of Tuguegarao City and parts of Cagayan Province.Status: On-going, 77.88%
Tagaloan River Sub-Project:
Construction of river dikes and partial excavation of river channel together with drainage channel improvement.Status: On-going, Upstream (Stage I)-87.64%; Downstream (Stage II)-82.86%.

Construction of two (2) off-site retarding basins along Imus River and Bacoor River located in Brgy. BuhaynaTubig and Brgy. Anabu.Status: On-going, 10.56%

Flood Risk Management Project in Cagayan De Oro-JICA
Construction of 11,928 meters Earth dike, 3,259 meters concrete flood wall including 1,449 meters reinforced concrete/masonry slope protection; gates & drainage outlets; preserved 97 hectares of natural retarding basin and developed 13 hectares of natural retarding basin. It will protect 290 ha. area and 18,100 structures.
Project Cost: PHP 8.55 BSchedule: April 2018-April 2022Status: Consulting Services for Detailed Design is on-going, 99.37%. Construction Supervision (Civil Works), 1.47%.
Ambal - Simuay River and Rio Grande de Mindanao River Flood Control and Riverbank Protection Project
It will mitigate frequent flooding in the flood-vulnerable areas along Mindanao River Basin (MRB) specifically the Provinces of Maguindanao, Cotabato & parts of Sultan Kudarat & Cotabato City.
Project Cost: PHP 39.2 B Schedule: 2019-2023
Status: Approved by NEDA Board on 25 April 2018.

Evacuation Centers in MindanaoA total of P1.62 Billion has been allocated from 2016 to 2018 for the construction of 45 Evacuation Centers in Mindanao. As of July 2018, 7 Evacuation Centers were completed, 28 Evacuation Centers are on-going, while the remaining 10 Evacuation Centers are under pre-construction activities.

Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry and Trade (ROLL IT)
ProgramBetter road infrastructure connecting the industries and trade
will further facilitate balanced development, dispersal of industries away from urban areas towards the rural areas,
creating more job and income opportunities to more Filipinos.
A total of 2,790 km of roads were identified supporting industry and trade development. As of 2018, Php12.55 billion has been appropriated for the construction and upgrading of about 438 km
access roads leading to industries & trade corridors.

The Tourism Road Infrastructure Program is aligned with the strategic direction of National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) to improve access and connectivity to tourism gateways, service
centers and tourism sites.

Slaughter House Road until F. Torres Bridge3.84 km bypass road that starts at Jct Davao City Diversion Road (Slaughter House Section) passing thru the Ma-a Riverside Road up to F. Torres Bridge. Travel time between Davao City Diversion Road and Davao City downtown will be reduced by half, from 40 minutes to 20 minutes. Will benefit 2,000 motorists per day.

Road Network Development Project in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (RNDP-CAAM)
Project Description: Development, construction and improvement of about 178.8kms. of access roads connecting ARMM & other regions in Mindanao that willsupport the development objectives of the conflict affected areas:For Construction/Improvement (101.9 kms.):
➢ SP2, Parang-Balabagan Road: 35.3 km
➢ SP7, Marawi City Ring Road: 19.8 km
➢ SP8, Parang East Diversion Road: 7.0 km

Project Description: Reconstruction/ Rehabilitation of MarawiTranscentral Road consisting of four (4) contract packages CP-1A, CP-1B, and CP-2 with a total Length of 18.97 km. .including the Project Management Contract (DED of 18.56kmTranscentral Road, 1.60 km Malabang Viaduct and three (3)Agus Bridges).Project Impact: Support the revitalization of socio-economic conditions of Marawi City which were devastated by the Marawi Siege.
