The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league

in India contested during April and May of every year by teams representing Indian cities. The league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in

India (BCCI) in 2007. It is one of the largest viewed sports games that is watched in larger part of the world. Around billions of viewers catch it live at the sporting place or in their television channels.

But this time the Aircraft carrying the team ran out of fuel and had emergency landing in the jungles of South Africa.

Yes you read it right …JUNGLES OF SOUTH AFRICA

Now let’s do some research work and Reinvent the IPL in the Jungles of South Africa:

TASK 1

(i) Make a model using 2 D shapes: 

Design you own IPL Trophy of approximately 100 cm by 50 cm suiting the Jungle Environment.

Mention the following information on your trophy in the following manner or in any other manner that you would like to:

a. Years of IPL held till date.

c. Winners of each of the IPL.

Research work

(i) Record the following:

a. Highest runs scored by a team in the IPL 2017. b. Highest runs scored by an individual in the IPL 2017. c. Highest number of centuries scored in the IPL 2017. d. Highest number of boundaries and sixes hit the IPL 2017. e. Win by maximum runs in IPL 2017. f. Highest strike rate in IPL 2017. g. Other similar interesting information.

Unfortunately, the Cricket kits of the teams could not be traced and the teams had to build their Bats and Ball using the resources from the Jungle.

(ii) Suggest how those can be made from the resources of Jungle and make a large 2D model of a Bat and present the collected information on it.

TASK 3

(i) Record the following:

a. Highest number of wickets taken in the IPL 2017. b. The most economic bowler in the IPL 2017 with

his statistics.

c. Maximum catches by an individual. d. Fastest all out by any team. e. All the Hat tricks in the IPL till date. f. Other similar interesting information.

(ii) Present all of this information on a cardboard cutout of a Ball inspired by Jungle theme.

In all of the above tasks, you may use pictures of the players and flags of the countries along with their names to make the work look interesting and presentable.

(i) Calculate the total time spent by you in making this model. (in hrs and minutes).

(ii) Express the time spent by you each day as a fraction of the total time spent by you to make the model.

Prepare flash cards for any 5 animals of your choice from The Jungle Book Movie. Draw and colour them yourself. Do not use print outs of pictures from the internet. Name and describe them in French. ( two sentences each).

Imagine you are in a forest of India on a project and have to find out important types of soils, trees and flowers in the jungle and all of a sudden you happen to meet Mowgli and his friend Bagheera. They help you in this project. Describe your meeting with Mowgli and how he helped you in your project. Make a report of five pages and paste or draw the pictures of the jungle, Mowgli and Bagheera, the flora, fauna and the soil in the Jungle.

Biodiversity is often used to refer to the total number of different species on Earth. A collection of this biodiversity would include human beings, plants, tigers, wolves, bacteria, and the millions of other living organisms found on Earth. ‘Mowgli’, a character that has again come to ‘live’ in hearts of the children through the movie Jungle Book which was full of diverse organism found on this earth. The concept showed the different types of animals that live in jungle and how they helped Mowgli

to grow up. So after enjoying the movie let's try to explore the

diversity.  

 

Prepare a project report emphasizing on the following points:

(a)Stick pictures of 5 different characters shown in the movie

(b) Name of the organism [Eg: Man, bear…]

(c) Name of the organism in the movie. [Eg: Mowgli, Baloo…]

(d) Name any endangered species shown in the movie. Write the names of 5 endangered animals of India.

(e) Write the names 5 trees, 5 shrubs in the forest and 5 products that are made from trees. [ also stick pictures].

(f) Imagine that Mowgli wants your help to set up a new habitat (living environment). Design and draw a new home for Mowgli.

Project needs to be done on A4 size sheets. Avoid plastic covers, use recycled materials wherever necessary.
