Downloading EndNote at Work for Home Use

1. Open the WSLHD Intranet by clicking the IE icon

2. Search for the “library”. Hit enter or Click the magnifying glass icon to start the search.

3. Click on “Blacktown Mount Hospital Library Service” from the search results.

4. Click on the “EndNote” icon. This will open a new page.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Terms and Conditions” link.

6. Read through the terms and conditions. Click in the box that you agree to the terms and

conditions.

7. Click “I agree”.

8. Plug in a USB to download the file. Click the file for the platform suitable to your needs.

9. There may be a variety of ways to save the .zip file to a USB.

a. Option one – downloads the file without saving

Click on the drop-down arrow and then click “Show in Folder

Open the USB folder. Drag the file to the open USB folder.

The .zip file is now on the USB.

b. Option 2 – “Save As”

A tool bar at the bottom of the screen will open.

Click on the drop-down arrow. Click “Save As”

Open the UBS folder and click “Save”.

The .zip is now saved on the USB

10. You are now ready to install EndNote of your home computer.

11. Open the USB and double click the EndNoteX7_3_1win.zip file.

12. Double click the EndNote X7.3.1 file

13. If necessary, click on the flashing icon to open the dialogue box

14. Click “yes” to allow EndNote to install

15. Once installation is complete, open EndNote from the start menu or icon on the

desktop.

16. Accept the license agreement and click next.

17. A dialogue box will appear asking if you’d like to set up your account. You can dismiss

this by clicking on the “X” or follow the prompts by clicking “Set up your account”.

18. Close the dialogue box by clicking on the “X”

19. You will be asked to download the latest version, click the “X” if you don’t wish to

update the application, otherwise click “Download and Install”.

20. Click “Next”.

21. Click “Next”.

22. Click “Next”.

23. Click “Yes” to update the EndNote application.

24. Click “Finish”.

25. You may now open EndNote and start building your library.
