Considered one of the most remarkably talented string quartets ever to emergeat such a young age, the Dover Quartet was the Grand Prize winner of the 2010 Fischoff Competition. Formed at the Curtis Institute of Music in 2008,when its members were just 19 years old, the Quartet draws from the musicallineage of both the Vermeer and Guarneri Quartets, but brings a youthfulenthusiasm and musical conviction to the repertoire that is truly its own. The quartet includes Ashland native Camden Shaw on cello.

Since its founding in 1994, the Zemlinsky Quartet has become a much-lauded example of the Czech string quartet tradition. The quartet won theFirst Grand Prize in the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition(2010), and also enjoyed a string of top prizes in the Banff InternationalString Quartet Competition (2007), Prague Spring International MusicCompetition (2005) and London International String Quartet Competition(2006), where it was also awarded the Audience Prize.

Founded in 2003, the ATOS Trio strives to convey the spirit of string quartetplaying to the piano trio realm. Never shying from extremes, the ensembleaims to push limits when it comes to sound and dynamics and is known forits honesty of interpretation. In 2007 the trio won the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, and in that same year at the 5thMelbourne International Chamber Music Competition, they took not onlythe First Prize but also the Grand Prize, the “Musica Viva Tour Prize,” andthe “Audience Prize.” Never before in the history of this competition, heldonly every four years, has a single ensemble acquired all of those honors.
