Greetings from the Agricultural Development Trust's Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramati.

We are celebrating 25 years of Dedicated Services to the Farming Community.

It gives us immense pleasure to cordially invite you in International Conference on Doubling the Farmers Income th ththrough Innovative Approaches scheduled on 9 to 11 April, 2018 at Agricultural Development Trust's Krishi Vigyan

Kendra, Baramati, Pune.

�e objective of the programme is to bring together the Researchers, Scientists, Government O�cials,

Industrialists, Students & Farming Community from India and abroad. It's a small e�ort to use this platform to exchange

information on latest technologies for Doubling the Farmers Income.

Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati was founded by renowned social reformers Hon. Sharadchandra

Pawar and his elder brother Late Padmashree Dr. D. G. Alias Appasaheb Pawar, in the year 1968. �e trust began its

activities by constructing percolation tanks in the drought prone area of Baramati which helped to build around 300

percolation tanks in the Baramati Tehsil.

�e main purpose of the establishment of the trust was to create the con�dence in the mind of famine a�ected

people for sustaining their economic condition by way of adopting ancillary agricultural activities such as dairy & poultry.

Subsequent basic concepts were switched on to the water management, high yielding varieties, soil health management

and fertilizer management. Trust developed Integrated Farming System with e�ective input management such as agro-

forestry, dry land agriculture, horticulture crops and socio-economic aspects of the farming community.

Since inception, the organization has been actively working for the socio-economic & educational empowerment

of the farmers, farm women, rural youth and their families of the Pune district. �e organization is mainly involved in the

education and extension of the agricultural activities.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramati was established on 1st August, 1992 under the a�liation of Indian Council of

Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. �is KVK has operational area of 7 tehsils of Pune district. �is KVK is model,

Hi-Tech, International & National Award Winning KVK working for the farming community since last 25 years for the

sustainable development of agriculture by increasing production, productivity and income of the agriculture and allied

sectors.

KVK, Baramati is a huge demonstrative exhibition on 110 acres with di�erent units such as Agriculture

Technology Information Centre (ATIC), Integrated Fish Poultry Unit, Wind & Solar Hybrid System, Bio-Control

Laboratory & Plant Health Clinic, Soil, Leaf, Petiole & Water Testing Laboratory, Hi-Tech Greenhouses, Apiculture Unit,

Hydroponics Unit, Automation Unit, Farmers Hostel, Dairy (Modern Loose Housing System), Poultry & Hatchery Unit,

Sheep-goat Unit, Vermicompost Unit, 4 Star Nursery, Seed & Fruit Processing Unit, Sericulture Unit, Agri & Eco-Tourism

etc. �e one & only Centre of Excellence for Vegetables based on the Indo-Dutch Action Plan is also started at the centre.

�is KVK has got many State Level, Zonal, National & International Awards for the excellent work in the �eld of extension

of agricultural technologies.
