My Differences from Jesus

1. I am the son of a father…– Matthew 27:16 And they had then a notable

Father

My Differences from Jesus

• …Jesus is the son of God– Matthew 26:63-64 But Jesus held his peace.

And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven

– Matthew 27:54 …Truly this was the Son of God

My Differences from Jesus

• …Jesus is the Son of God– John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We

have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

– Romans 1:3-4 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

My Differences from Jesus

2. I am guilty of sin…– Mark 15:7 And there was one named Barabbas,

which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

– Acts 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you

– John 18:40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

My Differences from Jesus

• …Jesus is innocent of all sin– I Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ,

as of a lamb without blemish and without spot– I Peter 2:21-22 For even hereunto were ye called:

because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth

– Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin

My Differences from Jesus

3. I am loved by my people…– Matthew 27:21 The governor answered and

said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

• …Jesus is hated by the same people– Mark 15:12-14 …What will ye then that I

shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? And they cried out again, Crucify him…Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

My Similarities to Man

1. We both were condemned to die– Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of

good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

– Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

– Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death

Page 10: Don’t Forget: Devotional/Fellowship Menu: Thanksgiving

My Similarities to Man

2. We both were at the mercy of others– Romans 4:4-5 Now to him that worketh is the

reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

– Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast

My Similarities to Man

3. We both are set free by Jesus’ sacrifice– Romans 5:6-8 For when we were yet without

strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Will you take advantage of His sacrifice?

Consider During Lord’s Supper:

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
