Since 1989 the Center for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) has worked on the Ford Foundation sponsoredTransfer Assembly. Using a single consistent definition, CSCC calculates transfer rates for colleges nationwide.
The CSCC transfer rate is defined as "the number of students who enter a two-year college in a given year, who have noprior college experience, and who complete 12 college credit units within 4 years, divided into the number who take oneor more classes at a public in-state univasity within four years."
These Spring 1990 data reflect the qualified transfer cohort and were match against UC & CSU data systems forin at least one UC/CSU class. The subsequent CSCC transfer rate was calculated from these figures.
For comparison purposes, applying the method statewide yielded an overall Transfer Rate of 20.8%. Nationwide theTransfer Rate was 23.4%. Clearly the CCCD colleges performed their transfer function at or above the expected rate.

Since 1989 the Center for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) has worked on the Ford Foundation sponsored
Transfer Assembly. Using a single consistent definition, CSCC calculates transfer rates for colleges nationwide.
The CSCC transfer rate is defined as "the number of students who enter a two-year college in a given year, who have no
prior college experience, and who complete 12 college credit units within 4 years, divided into the number who take one
or more classes at a public in-state university within four years."
These Spring 1991 data reflect the qualified transfer cohort and were match against UC & CSU data systems for
in at least one UC/CSU class. The subsequent CSCC transfer rate will be calculated from these figures.
For comparison purposes, applying the method statewide yielded an overall Transfer Rate of 22.0%. Nationwide the
Transfer Rate was 22.6%. Clearly the CCCD colleges performed their transferfunction at or above the expected rate.
