This Guide shows how to start and use these job aids: • Workstation Orientation — a user-directed audio-visual tutorial about the programs on the workstation. • Workstation online help — a detailed reference file in a browser-based HTML Help format. • Scan Help Website — news, statistics, tips and tricks, and what’s ahead in document-capture technology. In addition to these electronic job aids, printed materials accompany your workstation in the Document Capture Workstation Help and Training Packet. Starting the Electronic Job Aids From the Windows Start menu, select: Programs > WorkFACILITY and then select the electronic job aid that you want to use. The Document Capture Workstation, developed and distributed by Con-way, comes with Help and Training in various formats. This Guide shows how to start and use these job aids:

In addition to these electronic job aids, printed materials accompany your workstation in the Document Capture Workstation Help and Training Packet.

Starting the Electronic Job Aids

From the Windows Start menu, select: Programs > WorkFACILITY

and then select the electronic job aid that you want to use.

The Workstation Orientation, Workstation Online Help, and Scan Help Website are each available from the Windows Start menu on your Document Capture Workstation.

Workstation Orientation Homepage

The Workstation Orientation contains five modules. Click one of the descriptions on the Orientation homepage to start that module.

Navigating the Workstation Orientation

The Orientation will begin to play a few seconds after you click to select an individual module on the homepage. Listen to the narration with headphones or speakers attached to your workstation. To adjust the volume, click the speaker icon on your Windows task bar, and then move the slider.

The Orientation is user-directed. You can select modules, or parts of modules, that pertain to your job. You can skip forward, go back, or pause and resume the presentation. Further, the Orientation is designed so that you can return to it later and find information, even while you are scanning.

Click this button at any time to return to theOrientation homepage.

This is the second of 10panels in the Scanning &Indexing module.

Within each panel are several image-and-voice segments about that topic. The bar indicator shows the number of segments and where you are in the progression. Click the diamonds at bottom to move back and forth among these image-and-voice segments.

Replay the segment

Pause/Resume

Jump back or forward among panels with these two buttons.

The Image area presents screen shots, photos, and other graphics to demonstrate the subject matter discussed in the voice-over narration.

Using the Workstation Online Help

To start the Online Help, choose: Programs > WorkFACILITY+ > Workstation Online Help.

The Online Help contains detailed information about every program on the workstation.

The left frame of the Online Help holds a hyperlinked table of contents. Click any of the underlined topics or sub-topics to view its page in the right frame.

The content in the right frame also has hyperlinks (underlined in blue). Click a link to jump to a different topic; use the browser’s Back button to return.

At the top of the pages in the right frame are navigation aids. Click the back or forward button to move among topics. Click Glossary to view a hyperlinked glossary of key words.

The Scan Help Website

To connect to the Scan Help Website, choose: Programs > WorkFACILITY+ > Scan Help Website.

This site is maintained by Con-way. It provides the most up-to-date information about scanning.

Click one of the navigation buttons in the left frame to jump to a topic page.
