Narrative Report & EvaluationSince most of us were first timers on baking, we were so excited during that day. We were grouped by four and then baked loaf bread and muffins (I forgot the exact recipe name). Each group had a recipe form to be followed and baking tools to be used. At the end of our 1st laboratory session, our instructor Ma’am Chelo then evaluated our baked products and we all smiled and had a taste of what we had baked on that day.

Difficulties: We seldom misunderstood the procedures and had difficulties on right measurements and time reading (even if RIGHT measurements were clearly stated). We forgot that baking is all about exact measurements and period of time.

Evaluation: Our baked products were okay but not perfect as to the standard of the recipe. The muffins were slightly over baked but on the second attempt, we push it through.

2nd Laboratory (Cookies &

Narrative Report & EvaluationOn our 2nd laboratory, we were tasked to bake cookies and brownies. Each group had different recipes for cookies and brownies. On our group, we chose Cappuccino Bars and Butter Cookies. At the end of our 2nd laboratory session, our instructor Ma’am Chelo then evaluated our baked products and we all smiled and had a taste of what we had baked on that day.

Difficulties: Since we were oriented with the system of the oven during our first lab, the only thing that bothered us is, every group doesn’t have the same time in putting their batters in the oven. So the heat comes out and the batters that were placed first in the oven will delay its baking process.

Evaluation: Our Cappuccino bars were baked perfectly as per asked onto the recipe given. On the other side, our cookies were over baked making it too dry.

3rd Laboratory

Narrative Report & EvaluationOn our 3rd laboratory, we baked cakes. Three groups had boiled icing cakes while 2 groups including us had fondants. We had a great time in making our fondant because we were like children playing clays. At the end of the laboratory session, everyone took a “groufie” on the cakes displayed and then our instructor evaluated our cakes.

Difficulties: Fondant kneading and molding took us a period of time because it was our first time on making fondant. We also had difficulties on conceptualizing our cake. But at the later part of our laboratory session, we decided to make an anchor on top, fishes on sides and rolled ropes on the border.

Evaluation: Honestly, we were so happy with our cakes. We may be first timers in cake baking and decorating but the effort on conceptualizing and making our cakes makes us worthy for good grades. (credits to Ma’am Chelo)

CAMB – MB CULMINATION

Narrative Report & EvaluationLast October 8, 2015, our Culmination Night was held in the Pool area of MPC. Groups were formed for specific functions & tasks to be done. All of us started our works early in the morning of October 8 for that night’s party. The event started at 07:30 in the evening and ended at 10:00 P.M.

Difficulties: Although we were assigned to different functions, still we find it hard to allocate ourselves into the works we are assigned to. Time management also was our main problem and it was so evident because the event started so late not following the time that is printed on the program.

Evaluation: For me, we all did great for that night. From the preparation to the actual program, we all participated and enjoyed the night. We may be small in numbers but the joy we felt and the happiness we experienced on that night cannot be paid by any amount.
