“The Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) is highly regarded among veterinarians worldwide. It was be-cause of this that I was attracted to the University of Guelph. The curriculum allows us a first-hand look into the academia side of medi-cine, and that allows us to make an informed decision about what we’d like to do with our career. The OVC Health Sciences Centre is staffed with highly trained experts with diverse knowledge, and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. This provides us an opportunity for hands-on, case-based learning exercises that are coupled with our theoretical classroom learning. OVC has many different clubs that focus on different areas of vet medicine, allowing students to explore different interests and train for a variety of species. My experiences in and out of class fully prepared me to practice small animal medicine after graduation.”

Campus Involvement: OVC Business Club, Student Chapter of the Veterinary Emer-gency and Critical Care Society, Central Veterinary Student Association council member

“The DVM program prepares us for a di-verse array of careers. We are given oppor-tunities to be involved in wildlife medicine and conservation. Opportunities in inter-national veterinary work are also made available, through groups such as Global Vets and Veterinarians Without Borders.”
