Liaison Negotiations• Bluetooth SIG

– Resolve Draft Std. Copyright License signatures for Exhibit A– Advise on IEEE Draft 0.8 Standard Status (cont.)

– Request Specification v1.0C (v1.1) Status (cont.)

– Next BSIG-IEEE f2f Meeting Date?, 2000

• IEEE– Resolve Draft Std. Copyright License signatures for Exhibit A– 802.11/802.15 Interim Meetings?

• We need to identify hosts and venue 12months out, or more.

• We need to consider a single (.11/.15) Guideline for Interim Hosts

– IEEE-SA LAN/MAN 802.15 Balloting Pool?• We need to increase the awareness of this process

The WG Liaisons are fragmented and not all active liaisons are captured.

Liaison Observation #1TG1 Should not wait for v1.1

• The Bluetooth SIG continues to be interested in the IEEE Standards-Making Process

• The Bluetooth SIG has been advised of the impact of the v1.1 errata delay and understands the issues

• The IEEE 802.15 Task Group 1 needs to review their schedule and determine how to maintain forward motion in the drafting process– WG Ballot Phase

• Halt Standards-Making effort and wait for v1.1 or

• Proceed w/ D0.8 to Recirculation LB w/o v1.1

Proceed to Sponsor Ballot Phase and handle v1.1 via WG Maintenance PAR/TG

The “Radio2” SG will help BSIG and the 802.15 WG communicate. As-is the WG may not have a Project (PAR) that can address Version 2.0 Specification

Liaison Observation #3802.15’s Web Site is visible

• The 802.15 Web Site continues to receive a significant amount of traffic

• The process of posting WG, TG, SG, etc. pages may need to have a more formal review process to maintain WG control

• This will require active participation from all Web Stakeholders

• Recommendation is to have the AC review and approve anything new or controversial

The “Radio2” CFI HTML Page was crossed linked from the IEEE-SA HomePage last week w/o any WG haranguing. We need AC review/participation.
