What is non-fiction? What is the purpose of non-fiction writing?

• Non-fiction is not fake• informs the reader about REAL events, people,

places, and times• OR tries to persuade the reader to see the author’s

feelings or point of view• Sometimes called INFORMATIONAL TEXT
