I speak for all members when I say the chartering banquet was one of the biggest accomplishments we have had so far. In a year, Omega Mu became an active chapter recognized by the Inter Fraternity Council while participating in campus and Greek philanthropy events.

During the event, hosted at Brooklyn’s Wine Cellar, Omega Mu was granted our charter with an emotional speech by Bob Bilbrough, Chairman of the Board (Psi Delta). Founding president, Andrew Noel and master of ceremonies Bradley Johnson entertained us through the night with toasts and memories of the year.

One of the most influential people in our success is George Otey (Rho Lambda). George was presented with the prestigious Henderson Award for the best DKE alumni for helping us achieve our charter. There really cannot be enough said about this man and the complete passion he has had for us. His award was met with applause and tears as he humbly accepted.

There were many other influential guests such as Ival Gregory (F&SA Manager), Mike Berryman (Gamma), Kyle McLain (Gamma) , Howard McMillan(Rho Lambda), and Doug Lanpher (Gamma). It was an honor having these alumni celebrate with us.

Grill Master, August Evers is leading a team of members to create the first ever Greek Town Grill Down. This event, scheduled for late march, will be a competition among houses to create and present their creations to a judge panel. Tickets will be sold to anyone who wants to come out and enjoy some good food and company and all proceeds will be given to a local charity.

This year we will also be hosting our 2nd annual FIFA tournament; a campus wide competition with all proceeds’s going to charity. The winner of the tournament will receive a copy of the newest addition of EA Sports FIFA. If you would like any more information on upcoming events please contact us for details.

We started off our fall semester with a pledge class of 13 young men who show all the qualities of a gentlemen, scholar, and jolly good fellow.

This pledge class includes Austin Stroud, Austin Wilhelm, Braden Earnest, Jacob Daheim, Jared Outram, Mitchell Meyer, Trey Hoser, Brandon Stacey, Greg Yang, Hugh Maguire, Nicholas Hayes, Aaron Holden, and Nick English.

Lead by Pledge Educator Andrew Noel, this group is showing great potential by leading our weekly Sunday dinner. Sunday dinner has played a huge role in our recruitment by providing a hot meal for anyone interested in joining our fraternity. Delegated kitchen manager, Trey Hoser, runs the kitchen to insure dinner is prepared, served, and cleaned up every Sunday night. We are very proud of the work they have put in so far and cannot wait to see what they do in the future.

Fall 2013 Pledge Class

These pledges also have a role in our property management group. Although we do not have an official house to call our own, we have rented a 6-room house located in the heart of OSU’s Greek system. To maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment the pledge class elected Brandon Stacy to lead property management. His duties include maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the house. In the short time this role was given, Brandon has made huge strides to make our home a place where all feel welcome.

A pledge project is also being put into act and the entire class will work together for the opportunity to create something that will move with our house as it changes in the future.

News

Intramurals

So far this year DKE has participated in flag

football and outdoor soccer. Undefeated, our

football team looks promising as they

continue their success. Soccer has had a rough start but the individual

talent on the team reveals a promising future.

Community Service

Omega Mu has passed an amendment that puts an exact number of required

service hours for our members. As a part of the Stillwater community, we

strive to do our part to make this city a better

place than it was yesterday.

Alumni Tailgate VS Baylor University

As part of Oklahoma State University we take great pride in OSU football. Game day is an exciting time in Stillwater and we love to bring everyone together to celebrate our Cowboys.

We will be hosting our alumni tailgate November 23, 2013 while taking on the Baylor Bears. If you have not experienced a game day in Stillwater, this would be the perfect opportunity to see what all the talk is about.

The tailgate will be hosted at 1225 West 3rd Ave and the time will be announced in the formal invitations, which will be sent to all parents, friends and alumni.
