•Divisional E.D.P./I.T. Centre was established in year1988-89 under 2nd Phase of divisionalcomputerization.

•Wipro Mini S-386 Computer System withCOBOL/UNIX (as console/server) along with fourdumb terminals were installed for programming &processing.

•Installation, Commissioning, Customization &maintenance were looked after by M/s WiproInfoTech Ltd.

•This nine years old Wipro system wasdeclared obsolete by M/s Wipro in 1995-96 &could not be replaced in time for want ofapproval of competent authority & ultimatelycrashed in nov-1997.

•.

•The Wipro system was replaced by HP Servers (UNIX /COBOL) & intelligent terminals (Windows / FoxPro) in 1998. This System/ application is continuing since 1998.

•Edit List to Bill clerks. (For this purpose, Besides Bill clerks of

DRM Office complex, About 32 Bill Clerks/ Office staff come

at least 4 times to IT centre/BSB from open line for receiving,

checking, handing over & taking over edit list/ , enclosures,

Pay-slip etc. This may be reduced by taking data in soft copy

from field staff.

• Pay slips to employees indicating PAN,

PF Balance & Leave Balance etc.

• Summary of debits & credits.

• Recovery statements

•FMIS related Statements

Such as-

• Edit list of CO7 entries to Accounts

• Cash Book statement

• Suspense Register

• Monthly & progressive Demand wise/PUwise & Department wise /PU wiseRevenue

• Expenditure statement.

• Revenue Allocation data for submissionto H/Q in softcopy.

•Technical Vetting of I.T. procurements &

installations.

•In house Computer Training of employees.

•Payment to 44% employees through

Bank. Data containing details of

Employees account numbers & Payable

amount & bank codes in soft copy are

being sent to bank for payment through

CBS.

• Payment of salary in Division through

CBS.

• Renewal of the two years

Comprehensive Contract for

Centralized Photo Copy Machines for

all departments in DRM office ( April -

2010 to March– 2012).

•Three Years Comprehensive Maintenance

Contract for PC systems of the DRM office

( Feb- 2009 - jan-2012).

•Pay Fixation and payment of remaining60% arrears to employees has beencompleted.

• Dispensing with the existing system checking/

rechecking of PMIS(Payroll) outputs by the staff of

fields units by taking data in soft copy as per following

schedule-

Trip-1 18th ( Same Month)

Trip-2 & Trip-R 23rd (Same Month)

Trip-3 4th (Next Month)

Trip-4 6th (Next Month)

• Implementation ofIPAS (PRIME- AFRES)is under considerationof the Railway Board.

•The I.T. centre is in dilapated condition. Leakage

of water, lots of crack in wall mounted wooden

panels, false ceiling is also requires immediate

repair /replacement. Hence complete renovation of

IT centre & attached conference hall is required.
