TheMahanta,theLivingECKMasteristhespiritualleaderofEckankar.HeisthespiritualguideforthoseonthepathofECK.

Sometimespeopledon’tunder-standtheroleofaspiritualguide—whetherit’sChrist,ortheMahanta,orBuddha,ortheleaderofachurchsomewherewhohasaverydeGinite,directconnectionwiththeHolySpirit.

Soletmeexplain. OverallcreationistheCreator,

God,whomweknowasSugmadintheancientteachings.Thenamedoesn’tmakeanydifference.TheCreatorisoneandthesame.

TheVoiceofGod,theECK,istheactiveforcethatgoesoutandisresponsiblefortheactualcreationofalltheuniverses.ThisVoiceofGodiswhatisknownastheHolySpirit.OrsometimestheSpiritofGod,thecreativeforce,orwhatever.Butit’saneutralforce.ItsimplyobeysordoesthewilloftheCre-ator.

ATrueSpiritualMasterAtruespiritualmasterisin

tunewiththeVoiceofGod.Ahu-manmanifestationthatpeoplecan

seeandunderstand.Inthatrole,hiswillisthatofDivineSpirit.Andthat’sall.

InEckankarthisdivineforceworksbothintheOuterMasterandalsothroughtheInnerMaster.

ThatmeansthoseonthepathofECKhavetheadditionalbeneGitofaMasterwhocancometotheminthedreamstateandteachthemthere.OrsometimesbydirectSoulTravel.Sometimesthroughcon-templation.TheInnerMasteristhere,workingwhentheindividualsleeps,orprays,ormeditates,or

contemplates.AndtheOuterMas-terisoutheretoprovidethebooksanddiscourses,andtogivetalksandthingsofthisnature.

ButtheOuterandInnerMasterarenottwoseparatethings;they’rejusttwodifferentaspectsofonebeingwhoservestheHolySpirit.

Inhisphysicalbody,theMahan-ta,theLivingECKMasterislikeeveryoneelseandcanonlybeinoneplaceatatime.IntheSoulbody,however,heisliketheairthatyoubreathe.Heiseverywhere.AstheECK,hecaneasilybewithyou

andthousandsofothersintheverysamemoment.

ThesolepurposeoftheMahan-ta,theLivingECKMasterissimplytohelpSoulGindIt’swayhometoGod.

SpiritualHelpIsatHandAswestepfurtheralongthe

pathtoself-mastership,weworkwiththisECKasItmanifeststousandgivesusdirection.Itwillbedifferentforeveryone.

SomewillseetheInnerMastercomeandgivethemhintsanddi-rections.Otherswillfeelgentlenudging.Ifit’samatterofhealth,orofreGillingthewalletandtryingtoGigureouthowtogetthebusi-nessgoingagain,theECKwillgivenudges.AswedotheSpiritualEx-ercisesofECK,ourconsciousnessopens.Webecomemoreawareofthehelpthatisalreadyathand.

SpiritualexerciseslinkyouwiththeguidanceoftheHolySpiritwhichisseenasLightandheardasSound.TheinnerSoundistheVoiceofGodcallingushome.TheinnerLightisabeacontolightourway.AlltheSpiritualExercisesofECKarebuiltonthesetwodivineaspectsoftheHolySpirit.

Learningspiritualconscious-nessislearninghowtoliveinthisworldnomatterwhatcomes.Welearnthroughthesespiritualexer-ciseshowtolivelifegraciously,fromchildhoodtooldage.

Soul—ASparkofGodOftenpeopleareafraidtofollow

theirinnerguidance.Itsoundslikesuchafoolishthingtodo,especiallyiftheyhavetofaceotherpeopleandexplainwhytheyaredoingwhattheyaredoing.

Oneoftheverystrongpressuresinlifeisthesocialcon-sciousness:Whatwillpeoplethink?Whatwillpeoplesay?

Thesocialcon-sciousnessissostrongthatitkeepspeopleinreligionsthattheyhaveoutgrownyearsago.Butthey’reafraidtoleavebecausetheyworryaboutwhattheneighborswillsay.Itisaverystrongforcethatthenegativepowerusestokeeppeo-pleinline.

Itkeepsthemtrappedintheirpresentlife,intheirstateoffutility,in

theirstateofhopelessnessandun-happiness.Mostpeopledonothavethespiritualstrengthtomusterthecouragetotakeastepawayfromthecrowd.

YetshowersofloveraindownuponussimplybecauseweareSoul,adivinesparkofGod.It’sVoice,whichshowersthelove,isthepureLightandSound.

TheCreator,theHighestBeing,speakstocreationthroughtheHolySpirit,theECK.Thisvoiceofdivineloveisveryreal.Thosewhoenterthehigherreachesofheavenhereandnowintheirstatesofcon-sciousnessseetheholyLightandhearthedivineSoundofGodclearlyinevery-daylife.TheLightand
