Have you ever read or heard anything about Jesus being called a radical ? What such a statement ignores is that God has been a radical all through salvation history. What kind of superior being forgives the kind of unloving actions humankind has committed through the centuries? Answer: a God of radical mercy, kindness, love. In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches that, like himself, like God, we must love with God-like radical compassion, even those who are our enemies. Didn’t Jesus give us an extreme example, forgiving those who put him to death? How difficult it is to be like God, like Jesus, forgiving, even loving, the very people who have treated us badly! The first reading gives another example. David was under a death sentence by King Saul, who had become David’s enemy through jealousy. Given an opportunity to murder Saul in his sleep, David chose to let him live, out of respect for God’s will toward Saul. David recognized that the only way for him to do God’s will was to love Saul, his enemy, enough to refrain from being judge, jury, and executioner. Saint Ann 8AM ENTRANCE: WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD Blessed are they who are poor in spirit, theirs is the Kingdom of God. Bless us, O Lord, make us poor in spirit; Bless us, O Lord, our God. Chorus: We are the light of the world. May our light shine before all, That they may see the good that we do, And give glory to God. Blessed are they who are meek and humble, they will inherit the earth. Bless us, O Lord, make us meek and humble; Bless us, O Lord, our God. (Chorus) Blessed are they who will mourn in sorrow. They will be comforted. Bless us, O Lord, when we share their sorrow; Bless us, O Lord, our God. (Chorus) Ending: To God (3x) Blessed are they LORD HAVE MERCY: Kyrie Eleison, Lord have mercy, Senor ten piedad, Kaawaan mo kami Christe Eleison, Christ have mercy, Cristo ten pie-dad, Kaawaan mo kami Kyrie Eleison, Lord have mercy, Senor ten piedad, Kaawaan mo kami OFFERTORY: CHRISTIFY Christify the gifts we bring to you, Bounty of the earth, recieve a new. Take and bless the work of our hands, Christify these gifts at your command.

Sun and moon and earth and wind and rain, All the world's contained in every grain All the toil and

dreams of human kind, All we are, we bring as bread and wine.

Turn the bread and wine, our hearts implore, To the living presence of the Lord, Blessed and broken, shared with all in need, All our hungers, sacred bread will feed. With this bread and wine you christify, Now our deepest thirst you satisfy //: We who by this bread you sanctify’ Draw the world for you to Christify. // ACCLAMATION: WHEN WE EAT THIS BREAD When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, We proclaim your Death, O Lord, Until you come again, Until you come again, We proclaim your Death, O Lord. COMMUNION: PILGRIMS THEME Tired of weaving dreams too loose for me to wear Tired of watching clouds repeat their dance on air Tired of getting tired of doing what's required Is life a mere routine in the greater scheme of things.

Through with taking roads someone else designed. Through with chasing stars that soon forget to shine Through with going through one more day - what's new. Does my life still mean a thing in the greater scheme of things

REFRAIN 1: I think I'll follow the voice that calls within Dance to the silent song it sings. I hope to find my place So my life can fall in place. I know in time I'll find my place. In the greater scheme of things.

Each must go his way, but how can I decide Which path I should take, who will be my guide I need some kind of star to lead me somewhere far

To find a higher dream in the greater scheme of things.

The road before me bends, I don't know what I'll find Will I meet a friend or ghosts I left behind Should I even be surprised that You're with me in disguise. For it's Your hand I have seen in the great-er scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

For yours is the voice in my deepest dreams. You are the heart, the very heart Of the greater scheme of things (REFRAIN 1)

REFRAIN 2: Why don't we follow the voice that calls within Dance to the silent song it sings. One day we'll find our place For all things fall in place. For all things have a place In the greater scheme of things. RECESSIONAL: TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE Let us tell the world of His love The greatest love the world has known (Ahh) Search the world for those who have walked astray and lead them home (lead them home) Fill the world's darkest corners With His light from up above. Walk every step, Every mile, Every road And tell the world tell the world of his Love…. The greatest love the world has known Walk every step, every mile, every road And tell the world (Tell the world of his love) Tell the world (Tell the world of his love) Tell the world… of His love…. Tell the world of His love.

St. Ann 12PM Entrance – LOVER OF US ALL Refrain: With all the earth we sing your praise We come to give you thanks, O Lover of us all, and Giver of our loving. With Sun and moon we dance for joy. We are your work of art, The glory of your hand, the children of your loving I am maker of mountains, I am God of the earth Like a mother in labour, I bring all to birth! (Refrain) If the night would surround you, and the sun fall from sight, Yet my hand will protect you, I will be your light! (Refrain) Offertory – Eye Has Not Seen Refrain: Eye has not seen, Ear has not heard what God has ready for those who love him; Spirit of love, come give us the mind of Jesus. Teach us the wisdom of God. When pain and sorrow weigh us down, be near to us, O Lord, Forgive the weakness of our faith, and bear us up within your peaceful word (Refrain) Our lives are but a single breath,

we flower and we fade, Yet all our days are in your hands, so we return in love what love has made. (Refrain) To those who see with eyes of faith, the Lord is ever near, Reflected in the faces of all the poor, and lowly of the world. (Refrain) We sing a mystery from the past, in halls where saints have trod, Yet ever new, the music rings to Jesus living Song of God (Refrain) Communion: Christ Be Our Light Longing for light, we wait in darkness. Longing for truth, we turn to you. Make us your own, your holy people, Light for the world to see. Refrain: Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today. Longing for peace, our world is troubled. Longing for hope, many despair.

Your word alone has power to save us. Make us your living voice. (Refrain) Longing for food, many are hungry. Longing for water, many still thirst. Make us your bread, broken for others, Shared until all are fed. (Refrain) Longing for shelter, many are homeless. Longing for warmth, many are cold. Make us your building, sheltering others, Walls make of living stone. (Refrain) Many the gifts, many the people, Many the hearts that yearn to belong. Let us be servants to one another, Making your kingdom come. (Refrain) Recessional: Lead Me, Lord Refrain: Lead me, Lord, lead me, Lord, by the light of truth, to seek and to find the narrow way. Be my way, be my truth, be my life, my Lord, and lead me, Lord, today. Blessed are the merciful, for mercy shall be theirs, and the pure in heart shall see their God. Blest are they whose hunger only holiness can fill, for I say they shall be satisfied. (Refrain)

Sabia Usted?

¿Hiciste algo inusual hoy? ¿A quién viste hoy? ¿Alguien dijo o hizo algo que fuera inusual o incluso molesto? Luego, como seguimiento, hágale preguntas sobre sus sen -mientos, y recuerde que a veces es más fácil para un/a niño/a hablar de los sen mientos de otra persona primero. Para obtener más sugerencias revise el ar culo de VIRTUS® “Conversa on Guidelines for Parents: Be Aware” (Pautas de conversación para padres de familia: Esté atento/a),

DID YOU KNOW? To establish confidence with your children start with ques ons about their daily ac vi es.

Some mes children will behave in a manner quite unusual for them – stress, misunderstanding, or some form of abuse can be related to such behaviors. If you see your child exhib-i ng unusual behavior, talk with your child about their day or recent experiences in an open-ended conversa on. Do ask factual ques ons, such as, “What did you do today? Did you do anything unusual today? Who did you see today? Did anyone say or do anything that was unusual or even up-se ng? Then, ask feeling ques ons as a follow-up, and re-member that some mes it’s easier for a child to talk about someone else’s feelings first

Archbishop Gomez invited all Catholics to make their annual com-mitment to the 2019 Together in Mission appeal. If you and your fami-ly have not had the opportunity to make your pledge, we ask that you complete a pledge card found in the pews or make your pledge online. Your gifts to Together in Mission ensure that every Catholic living in the archdiocese has a parish to celebrate their faith and access to a Catholic school education. You are living your faith through your actions when you support Together in Mission.
