DISTRICT OF SQUAMISH REPORT TO: Council FOR: Regular PRESENTED: March 6, 2007 FILE: Project 2006-19 BYL 1941, 2006 FROM: Planning Department SUBJECT: District of Squamish Zoning Bylaw No. 1342, 1995, Amendment Bylaw (Comprehensive Development No. 42 Studio SQ) No. 1941, 2006 Recommendation: 1. Purpose: To provide Council with information regarding the legislated and District of Squamish process with respect to Bylaw 1941, 2006 for the Public Hearing on March 6, 2007. 2. Background: On February 20 th , 2007 Council gave first two readings to Bylaw 1941, 2006 and scheduled a Public Hearing for March 6, 2007. Third reading for the bylaw is also on the March 6, 2007 Council agenda for consideration. 3. Project Information: The District of Squamish policy and process, as well as the requirements of provincial legislation have been met with respect to this rezoning application. Bylaw 1941, 2006 is included as Attachment 1. Notice of Public Hearing was published in two consecutive issues of the Squamish Chief newspaper, namely February 23, 2007 and March 2, 2007, pursuant to section 892 of the Local Government Act. Notice of Public Hearing was also sent to all owners/tenants in occupation of property within 100 metres of the subject site for the proposed rezoning. The Technical Planning Committee discussed the rezoning application and issues related to the application have been addressed by staff.
