Club Anniversary:

If you had any we hope

you had a good day

Meets Monday

6 for 6.30pm

At Rotary Hall

Brownell Crescent, Medina

Visitors always welcome

Our meeting didn’t have a scheduled Guest Speaker so I was given the

opportunity to refresh and promote ClubRunner to our members.

Rotary Club software first became available as ‘Clubmate’ way back in the

mid 90s. In 2003 Rotary International purchased the rights to Clubmate

software from its New Zealand developers.

ClubRunner founded in 2003 as a project of District 7080 Ontario, Canada and

Over the next few years became the preferred option for Rotary Club

management. Where Clubmate was a stand-alone windows based product

ClubRunner had a web based platform with full access to tailor and add

content to screen layouts, and most importantly offered full integration with

the Rotary International database, which meant that any member data changes

made by the club into ClubRunner was immediately transferred to the RI

database, thus saving the Secretary the onerous task of notifying RI of any

changes to member information.

While I accept that our club has been at times a bit reluctant to embrace

ClubRunner I do feel that it is a valuable tool in the management of our club.

The ability to archive important club documents and events both in photo and

text format together with the ability to make everything available to either the

general public or member access only is a great tool, plus the recent inclusion

of a mobile app for smart phones can only enhance the already useful product.

Founded in 2003, ClubRunner began as a project by the Rotary District 7080 Website Chair, a long

time Rotarian and Past President of the Mississauga City Center Rotary Club who is also a world-

class software executive who has worked with software companies such as IBM in the past.

As a software provider for major banks and insurance companies, his own company was already

using the latest technology to manage online databases, generate dynamic documents and perform

time saving work flow functions within an organization.

Working closely with his home district and club, along with his highly experienced team , they

started out with a mission to change the way membership clubs and associations function and

connect with members by automating administrative functions and aligning them to the way non-

profits work.

ClubRunner enables non-profits, boards, service clubs, chambers, and associations of all sizes to

build their web presence, improve membership collaboration, automate administration and boost

public relations.

ClubRunner solutions are both easy to use and extremely powerful, providing the foundation for

retention, growth and improved administration throughout.

Known for its innovation and impact to community, ClubRunner has been nominated for many

leading industry awards and is also the winner of the Microsoft Impact award for "Best Community

Impact". ClubRunner was also voted the best Rotary Software in a recent survey conducted. Today,

ClubRunner is available in multiple languages and has over 5000 customers, in over 30 countries.

Unlike other membership solutions, ClubRunner provides powerful, uncompromising

functionality with a fun, extremely easy-to-adopt experience. We take pride in seeing its customer

succeed for the long term, which is why today we have the highest retention rates in any software

industry.

November 1, 2010, Oakville, Ontario, CANADA – ClubRunner, the leading provider of Rotary

Club administration and communications software, is pleased to announce today the integration of

its databases with Rotary International – one of the largest humanitarian service organizations in the

world with 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.

In a joint effort to unify and streamline member records, ClubRunner and Rotary International, the

Evanston, IL based administrative entity that supports Rotary clubs and districts, have been working

closely for the past year to establish a secure connection to completely automate member updates

while maintaining full control and privacy to Rotary clubs and districts.

Until now, all software vendors have been issuing email notifications to Rotary International’s Data

Services division, resulting in countless hours of manual data entry. ClubRunner and Rotary

International had a common goal to increase overall effectiveness of each club by taking away

administration overhead. Each club with ClubRunner today now can worry less about data integrity

between multiple databases. When a club database is updated with, for example, a member’s new

contact information, that change would automatically be incorporated into Rotary International’s

database, eliminating the need for clubs to formally notify Rotary International or make the change

manually through Member Access.

There once was a lady named Ferris

Whom nothing could ever embarrass.

Til the bath salts one day, / in the tub

where she lay, /

Turned out to be Plaster of Paris.

There was an odd fellow named Gus,

When travelling he made such a fuss.

He was banned from the train,

Not allowed on a plane,

And now travels only by bus.

There once was a farmer from Leeds,

Who swallowed a packet of seeds.

It soon came to pass,

He was covered with grass,

But has all the tomatoes he needs.

There was a young woman named

Bright,

Whose speed was much faster than light.

She set out one day,

In a relative way,

And returned on the previous night.

There is a young schoolboy named

Mason,

Whose mom cuts his hair with a basin. When he stands in one place,

With a scarf round his face,

It's a mystery which way he’s facing.

A romantic young man from Sherwood

Bought a ring for his girl and felt good

He left it on the bus

Air was blue with his cuss Chased after it as fast as he could.

On her birthday told hubby don't be late

And with him she wanted to celebrate

With good food and some wine

A posh place they would dine

He forgot and went drinking with a mate.

I've done it -- I've done mown the lawn,

But my muscles are aching and torn.

I could swear there are some,

In my legs and my bum, I've not used since the year I was born.

There was a young schoolboy of Rye,

Who was baked by mistake in a pie. To his mother’s disgust,

He emerged through the crust,

And exclaimed, with a yawn, Where am

I?

A young gourmet dining at Crewe,

Found a rather large mouse in his stew.

Said the waiter, Don't shout, And wave it about,

Or the rest will be wanting one, too.
