Keys to OPTIMUM DISINFECTION

What is a Disinfectant? They are products or mixtures of chemical origin that contain one or more active ingredients and an excipient that increase its effect, gives volume and facilitates its use. They destroy the microorganisms present in inanimate objects (bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores, algae, protozoa, etc.)

General rules for Disinfection · Practice cleaning (detergents). · Apply disinfectant. · Treat all surfaces. · Follow product recommendations. · Handle concentrates with care. · Wait a while before using the place.

What Disinfection?

· Avoid contagion in the facilities. · Increases profitability and improves conversion rates. · Reduces diseases caused by high contamination of microorganisms. · Destroy germs that produce infectious diseases.

It is very important to keep the medium free of MICRO AND MACROORGANISMS with the possibility of exerting some pathogenic action (bacteria, viruses, fungi, insects, mites, rodents, etc.)

Why Disinfect? There are factors that destabilize the ecosystem of animals in modern farms such as: Excessive genetic selection, displacement of animals, rations very energetic, too much concentration of animals, etc.

These stressors negatively affect the immune system of animals, so it is vital to maintain CLEASING and DISINFECTION to prevent animal diseases.

“For more information see our video on biosafety on farms”

Key to OPTIMUM DISINSECTATION:

What is an Insecticide?Products that interfere with the physiology of insects

leading to death.

Why Disinsect?

Insects and mites are vectors (vehicles) of large numbers of microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, etc.). Its is therefore essential to keep their population at a tolerable level. If we control the population of theses arthropods, we will reduce the diseases that transmit to humans, pets and livestock.

Insect control must be comprehensive: Biological, physical and chemical control

Chemical control should be directed towards all life cycles. Treatments should be performed to remive Eggs - Lavae - Adults, with specific products for optimun results.

How to Disinsect? Insect control should be comprehensive and preventive. Its is essential to

disinsect at the beginning of the campaign to avoid overpopulation of insects and mites.

Larvicides: Apply on manure, animal waste and surfaces where organic matter is deposited (manure pits, dunghills, etc.).Liquids: On poor porous surfaces, doors, windows, walls, etc.Podwers: Sprinkle under beds, in dung and very porous areas.Attractants: Apply on poyetes, frames, patches, displays and in general in little ventilated places.

Group of Insecticides· Carbamates: Propoxur, Methomyl, Malathion, etc.· Organophosphates: Diazinon, Chlorpyrifos, Azamethiphos, etc.· Pyrethrins: Cypermethrin, Alfacipermethrin, Deltamethrin, etc.· Nicotinoids: Imidacloprid, Acetamiprid, Tiametoxan, etc.· IGRs: Diflubenzuron, Cyromazine, etc.

Directions for useIt is applied diluted in water, due to it acts as a vehicle of the product, providing its penetration in the organic waste. Spray straight onto the surface where larvae are. Combine the treatment with an adulticide product to assure a total control of the insects.

· Efficient control of insect population: 80-90%· Very efficient at low doses.· Very safe for animals.· It improves staff work conditions.

Main Properties· Insecticide larvicide growth inhibitor of eggs and insect larvae (flies, mosquitoes, fleas, etc)· It reduces insects population exponentially.· It is vital for the integral insect control.· It disrupts the cycle life of insects by avoiding the synthesis of chitin.

Flygen flies trap

Flygen roll

Directions for use

Main Properties

Main Properties

Open the trap’s lid and put the content of the Flygen bait into the bucket. Add warm water up to the marked area. Shake it up until dissolution. Place the trap outside the house, farms, barns, etc. Clean and change the bait when the bucket is filled with flies or at least, after three weeks.

Suitable for using outdoors. Its action principle resides in the attraction of flies by the fermentation of the Flygen bait in contact with water and sun light. Flies will be attracted from the day two or three since the trap is active. The bigger the number of traps, the best the results will be. 100% natural product free of toxicity for animals and persons.

It is recommended to be used where there are concentrations of flies: barns, milking rooms, farms, etc. Its functioning is based on the flies’ natural behaviour which are attracted by brightness and lines. On each linear metre, around 500 flies may be trapped.

Key points to OPTIMUM RODENT CONTROL

Why is it necessary to control rodents?

Basics for rodent control:

· They consume stored food. · The contaminate food with urine, hair and faeces.· They can transmit multiple diseases. · The damage belongings and facilities. · The bite and break ducts and cables.

1.- INSPECTION: To diagnose and evaluate the species to control and estimate the population of rodents. In any case , it is better to overestimate the presence of rodents even though if the sings are not very intense.

2.- SANITARY: The target is to create a hostile environment in which rodents can not find food in hiding places to burrow, trying to limit their access to the facility.

3.- REDUCTION: It consists of reducing the number of rodents though traps and mainly with chemical rodenticides.

Baits Techniques for handling

· Use gloves for its application. · Place bait inside bait stations at a distance from 5 to 15 m.· Recolocate those that have not been visited. · Place baits at different heights. · Substitute all baits frequently.

Kind of baits

· Fresh baits

· Cereal grains· Mini ovules

· Pellets· Paraffin baits

· Drilled blocks· Liquids

35

AS IMPORTANT AS THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT

OF THE RODENTICIDE IS THE BAIT THAT

IS CONTAINED IN, BAITS MUST BE VERY

ATTRACTIVE TO THE RODENT.
