Just as we (usually) want our kids to grow up, God wants us to grow up in our faith. Read the MOVE Growth Pathway Guide and think about where you are from Search to Surrender and where God wants you to be. 2. What are some of the benefits and blessings of growing toward spiritual maturity (Colossians 2:2-3)? Which of these stands out to you most? Why? 3. The down side of not maturing is that we’re easy targets for the enemy - the world, our flesh, and the Devil (Colossians 2:4 and 8). What are some of the philosophies and deceptive ideas out there today that hinder Christians from maturing in Christ? 4. The good news is that God is at work in us and on us to grow us up (Colossians 2:6-7 and 2:19). How do you feel about that fact that God is at work to help you mature? 5. To grow in faith, what does God want you to faithfully do (Colossians 2:6-7)? 6. A key tool God uses to grow us toward maturity is the Bible (Acts 20:32 with Colossians 2:7). What helps you to learn God’s word? What hinders you from reading and reflecting on God’s word daily? What is one step you can take this week to get God’s word into you more consistently? Life Group Leaders – Challenge your group to do the scripture reading on the bookmarks, memorize the verses, and do the journals as a way to apply this lesson.
