Evacuation Plans

SUPPLEMENTAL EVACUATION PROTOCOL

Springdale

The Local Office Emergency Action Plan will be followed in all respects, but this

Supplemental Evacuation Protocol contains information specific to the Springdale office.

Damage Assessment

The Springdale office is located entirely on the ground floor. In the event of a fire, the

most important objective is to evacuate staff from the building. The Regional Manager, or her

designee, will return to the building to assess and document damage only after clearance is

obtained from the local fire or police department. For other natural disasters, including tornados

and earthquakes, it is deemed safest to remain in the building, but to have staff members relocate

to the central conference room where there are no windows to shatter or cause injuries. An

emergency first aid kit, a flash light and extra water are located in the staff break area.

Fire

The building is too small for fire alarms to be required. An exit map is attached. The last

person out of the office will call 911 and take the emergency first aid kit. In the event that the

fire is of the size that can be extinguished safely by a fire extinguisher, there are three portable

fire extinguishers. One is located outside the south bathroom, one is located outside the kitchen

and one is located by the south exit. Staff will meet outside in the extended parking lot on the

north side of the building.

LOCAL OFFICE EVACUATION PROTOCOL

(HARRISON)

The designated meeting place for a fire or earthquake disaster is W.

Stephenson street in front of the office. For a tornado or other

weather event, the meeting place would be in the basement area of

Fraylees, the furniture store around the corner from our office.

It is not difficult to evacuate the Harrison office, although the

windows cannot be opened. The office is on ground level and

there are three easily accessible exits on the ground level in

each office.

The Harrison Office is located a block from the police and fire

stations.

Client waiting rooms connect directly to the two front doors.

Liabilities:

The front windows of the office and lobby have large

windows which are a hazard in case of storms.


JONESBORO OFFICE

All employees will be given a copy of the Local Office Emergency Action Plan and one copy

will be posted on bulletin board in the kitchen.

Evacuation Plan

The Jonesboro office has two exits one on each of the building. During any emergency

evacuation the Main Street Exit should be used as the primary exit. The rear exit is available as a

secondary exit but should only be used in extraordinary circumstances. Upon exiting the building

all employees shall gather at the First Baptist Church parking lot as designated on the evacuation

map.

Fire

Smoke detectors shall be located in the central hallway with one detector at each end of the hall

and a fire extinguisher shall be located near the rear exit. Flashlights and first aid supplies are

located in the medicine cabinet in the kitchen.

Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm

The Jonesboro office has a small basement which is prone to flooding , narrow stairs, and poor

lighting which could pose a safety hazard. Therefore, it has been determined that the safest place

in the office during severe weather is the conference room. The conference room is an interior

office with no windows, it can be reached quickly by all staff, and is large enough to

accommodate all staff members safely.


NEWPORT OFFICE

1. The following items, with the exception of the NOAA Weather Radio, will be stored in

the supply cabinet located in the main hallway:

Flashlight and extra batteries

Portable battery – operated radio and extra batteries

First Aid Kit with manual

Emergency food and water

Nonelectric can opener

Basic medications and antiseptics

Tool kit

Sheeting or Tarps

2. Fire Extinguisher in kitchen mounted on wall next to doorway,

3. The exits for evacuation will be the front doors facing Walnut Street. Everyone will meet

in the gravel parking lot across the street for a head count.

- In the event that the front exits are inaccessible, then everyone will exit the building using the

side door which faces Second Street and still meet in the gravel parking lot across the street.

4. When it is safe to re-enter the building, all client files and documents will be secured and

if necessary moved to another location until they can be returned to the building. All employees

will also be instructed on securing confidential information in the event that I am unable to do so

for any reason.

SUPPLEMENTAL EVACUATION PROTOCOL West Memphis

The Local Office Emergency Action Plan will be followed in all respects, but this Supplemental Evacuation Protocol contains information specific to this office. DAMAGE ASSESSMENT The West Memphis office is located on the fourth floor of a six story building, the Mid-Continent Plaza. During a fire, the most important objective is for staff to evacuate the building. The Managing Attorney or his or her designee will return to the building to assess and document damage only after cleared by the local fire or police department. For other natural disasters, it is safest to remain in the building but relocate to the stairwell. In the event of an earthquake, climb the stairs upward instead of evacuating. An emergency first aid kit, a flash light and extra water are located in the break room area. FIRE Fire alarms that automatically alert persons in the building are located on each side of the elevator near the restrooms and will be activated by the first staff member to enter the stairwell. An exit map is attached. The last person out of the office will call 911 and take the emergency first aid kit and flash light. In the event that the fire is of the size which can be safely extinguished by a fire extinguisher, there are fire extinguishers in built-in compartments in both the south and north common hallways. Staff will meet outside in the grassy area across Avalon Street on the east side of the building. EARTHQUAKES Steel beams support the stairwells in our building, and the landlord reports that while the Mid-Continent Building was constructed using earthquake safe materials, it has a steel skeleton and will withstand considerable seismic activity. As a result, the stairwells are the most safe location in the interior of the building. There is access to the roof by way of the south stairs. On the exterior, the parking lot has numerous poles and utility wires overhead. As a result, the safest location on the exterior of the building is in the grassy area located across Avalon Street east of the building, and staff who evacuate the building will meet in this location.

SUPPLEMENTAL EVACUATION PLAN ARKANSAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

All employees will be given a copy of the Local Office Emergency Action Plan and one copy

will be posted on the bulletin board in the kitchen.

Upon exiting the building, all employees should gather in the parking lot on the East side. Fire There are two smoke detectors and four extinguishers, both smoke detectors are located in the back right of the Pinnacle House. One extinguisher is located in the same room in the back right of the Pinnacle House, one extinguisher is located in the kitchen in the center of the Pinnacle House, one extinguisher is located in the back conference room and the last is located in the mail room. Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm The safest place in the ACH office is Jamie’s office. There is one exterior wall and there are windows and it is easily accessible to all employees.
