In fact, the generalprinciple is that the laws forwomen are exactly the same as those formen unless there is proof showing
otherwise.Presentdaymodernscholarssayquotinghadeethwomenshouldprayaslikemen.Ifyougothroughthisarticlecarefully,
youwillcometorealizewhichisthecorrectmethodforthewomentoperformtheprayers.
There isadifferenceofopinionamong the scholarswith respect to themanner inwhichawoman is supposed toperform the
prayer.Somesaythatsheshouldkeepherbodyclosetogetherandnotspreaditoutlikemendointheprayer.
ThisarticleshallbebasedonoverwhelmingahadithwhichestablishfromProphet(Peacebeuponhim),Sahabah,Tabiyeenand
greatFuqahathatprayerofwomanisdifferentinmanywaysfromprayerofman.

RefutingthemisuseofhadithbyAlbani
AlateSaudiArabianscholarinthepastwiththenameofNasiruddinAlbani,whowasknownforhisspuriousandofftangentfatwas,
hetriedtoclaimthatPrayerofwomanisexactlysimilartothatofmen,hemisusedthehadithofBukhariwhichstates:PRAYASYOU
HAVESEENMEPRAYING[SahihBukhari(1/606)].
ThisisinactualagrossmisinterpretationofthehadithbecauseheretheProphet(Peacebeuponhim)wasreferringtomen,Ifwedo
notacceptthisconditionthenProphet(Peacebeuponhim)sayingthat"PrayasyouhaveSEENmepraying"Bukhari,Book21,Hadith
no:352wouldbecomeillogicalbecauseProphet(Peacebeuponhim)wasSEENprayingwithturban,soshouldthewomenalsostart
wearing turbans?TheProphet (Peacebeuponhim)wasalsoSEENprayingwithhisanklesexposed, so shouldwomen also start
exposingtheirankels?TheProphet(Peacebeuponhim)wasSEENleadingmeninprayer,soshouldwomenalsoleadmeninprayer?
Etc This proves that Albani was illmastered in the science of hadith and he gave illogical verdicts by looking at ahadith just
apparently.

(b)SecondlyImamalMizzi(rah)hassaidthatthisUmmadDardawasamongstTabiin[RefertoTahdhibulKamaal(22/64)].
PlusImamIbnHajralAsqalani(rah)hasproventhatthenarratorofthishadithi.e.MakhulonlynarratedfromUmmalDarda
AsSughra(whichreferstoTabiinotSahabi)HencepracticeofaloneTabiisnothujjatandAlbanihadspreaddeceptionin
thisregard.

The rewardof congregational prayer formen is twenty seven timesmore than an individualprayer.Contrary to this, themore
rewardingprayerofawoman is thatwhich ismostconcealedandperformedwithin theconfinesofher innermost livingquarters.
SayyidunaAbdullahbinMas'ud(ra)reportsthattheProphet(pbuh)said,'theprayerofawomaninhermakhda'(partition)isbetter
thanherprayerinherhujrah(chamber)andherprayerinherhujrahisbetterthanherprayerinherbait(house).' AbuDawood570
andIbnKhuzaimah1690.
SayyidunaAbuHurairah(ra)narratesthattheProphet(
pbuh)said,"ThemostbelovedSalahtoAllahofawoman isonethatshe
performs in the darkest spot of her home.' Ibn Khuzaimah 1691, and Tabarani in alM'ujam al Kabeer asmentioned byHafidh
Haithami2/35.HafidhHaithamialsosaysthatitsnarratorsareauthentic.
Unlikemenwomenshouldnotgiveadhanorsaytheiqamah.
SayyidatunaAsmaa(ra)narratesaspartofalongerhadeeththattheProphet(pbuh)said,'ThereisnoadhaniqamahorJumaaupon

SayydunaIbnUmar(ra)says'Thereisnoadhanoriqamahuponwomen.'543
Thereisagreatdifferenceintheawrahofamanandthatofawomaninsalah.Womenmustcovertheirentirebodyincludingthe
hair,leavingonlytheface,handsandfeetexposed.
UmmulMu'mineenAisha (ra)reportsthattheProphet (pbuh)said, 'Allahdoesnotacceptthesalahofamature femalewithouta
scarf.'

AccordingtothenarrationofAbuDawood, ImamAhmadwasaskedabouthowawomanshouldsit insalah.Hereplied,'Sheshould
pressherthighstogether.' MasaailofImamAhmadnarratedbyAbuDawoodp51.
QadhiIyadhhasalsoquotedfromsomeSalafthattheSunnahforwomenistarabb'u.AwjazalMasalik2/119.
Alltheabovequiteclearlydemonstratesthattheprayerofawoman isdifferent insomeaspects fromthatofaman,andthatthis
distinctionwas firstmade by none other than theProphet (pbuh ), and thenmaintained by the prominent Sahabah and Tabi'un.
Furthermore,ascanbeseen in theirworks, there isalmostuniversalagreementamongst the scholarsofallschoolsof fiqhon this
issue.

Narrated'Aisha:Allah'sApostleusedtooffertheFajrprayerandsomebelievingwomencoveredwiththeirveilingsheetsusedtoattendtheFajr

NarratedUmSalama:WheneverAllah'sApostlefinishedhisprayerswithTaslim,thewomenwouldgetupandhewouldstayonforawhileinhis
placebeforegettingup.IbnShihabsaid,"Ithink(andAllahknowsbetter),thatthepurposeofhisstaywasthatthewomenmightleavebeforethe

Sahlb.Sa'dreported:Isawmenhavingtied(theends)oftheirlowergarmentsaroundtheirnecks,likechildren,duetoshortageofclothand
offeringtheirprayersbehindtheApostleofAllah(maypeacebeuponhim).Oneoftheproclaimerssaid:Owomenfolkdonotliftyourheadstill
