A fun new activity has entered the library!
Every week we will be showing off a member
of the William Brookes School staff holding
one of their favourite books. You job is to
guess who that staff member is!
The reward will be worth your time and effort;
you will earn a green dot and a chance to win
a packet of Haribo if you guess the person in
the picture correctly. Just remember to put
your name and tutor group on the slip of
paper before submitting your answer. We need
to know who to reward when it is guessed
correctly.

DEADLINE: FRIDAY 12 OCTOBER
Liz and her husband Brian moved to Much Wenlock in 1985 with Liz soon becoming an active and well respected member of the local community. She went on to hold roles with the Town Council and the Wenlock Olympian Society for many years.
In 2004, Liz was a member of the team which was instrumental in the design and development of plans for The Edge Arts Centre, raising awareness and funding not just for the construction but for the programme of events it went on to deliver, acting as Chair of the Management Committee. 2012 saw Much Wenlock and William Brookes School host a visit of the London Olympic Games torch relay with Liz at the helm of several other projects organised to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Following her sudden death in March 2016, a Memorial Fund was created using the donations made by friends, colleagues and acquaintances. It is the wish of Liz’s family that this Fund is used to continue her support of students of William Brookes School in the form of an annual award to be used to widen and enhance their experience of a chosen interest.
Application Rules
Any student of William Brookes School from any Key Stage is eligible to apply. All applications received will be considered by a panel made up of a member of Liz’s family and a member of staff from school and shortlisted applicants then invited to attend a short interview. Following interviews, up to four recipients will be selected and awarded an amount from the annual Award total of between £600 and £800. Successful applicants can not apply in successive years. They may, however, re-apply after one year has elapsed.
