Why Do We Need a Watershed Protection Plan?

• Drinking water supply for nearly 500,000 people

• Prevent degradation which could lead to mandatory State and/or Federal remediation• Chlorophyll‐a Concern (2008)• TDS Impairment (2012)

• Primary source of fresh water, sediment and nutrients to the Nueces Estuary
