3 TWEETERS WHO WILL POSITIVELY EFFECT MY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Edutopia is a foundation that focuses on, in their own words, “inspiration and information for what works in education”. So far, I have gained valuable information on new and exciting ideas to inspire and educate students. Edutopia provides ideas anywhere from educational technology to classroom management methods. I have also been able to follow leads in to other interesting and exciting resources through the tweets I see from Edutopia. As a professional, Edutopia will keep me informed on new and important movements in the educational world, and also provide me with external resources that could benefit my students and their learning.

2. GEORGE COUROS

George Couros is a Principal of Innovative Teaching and Learning. He is a great resource on subjects such as educational technology, teaching and learning strategies, as well as interesting debates and discussions in the Educational world. George is also provides a great example of how to develop and fully utilize a PLN through twitter with his own account. As a professional, I can gain great resources and ideas from George, as well as have a great reference for the development of my PLN.

3. Music Teacher (Magazine)

The Music Teacher feed offers resources on music in education. It also provides the latest news and developments which directly effect music teachers. Because music is my minor, I find this to be a valuable account to follow because it helps me develop new ideas on how to teach a subject I am less confident in than my major. As a professional, the Music Teacher feed can help support me in my journey to develop and improve the way in which I teach music.

HOW HAVE I CONTRIBUTED?

I have participated in the Twitterverse though the following ways:• Hash tagging key words to

learn more about a particular subject or idea

• Taking part in discussions through chat feeds on specific ideas or topics

• Re-tweeting information and resources that I find valuable

• Continuously discovering more and more tweeters who can help me continue my professional growth
