Desperado 2020 Tournament Schedule

Schedule: This will be the schedule for the tournament. Please make sure to be on time for check in each morning so that we can make sure everyone is present and can start matches. The faster you are here, the faster we can play. Rounds last 3:15.

Friday:

• 8:30 am: Check-In with Tournament Organizer (Jeff Parkhurst), pick up Scenario Packet

• 9:00 am – 12:15: Round 1

• 12:15-12:45 Go out to lunch Display armies for paint scoring

• 12:45 pm – 4:00 pm: Round 2

• 4:30 pm – 7:45 pm: Round 3

Etiquette Expectations:

Please follow the rules below throughout the tournament to ensure smooth gameplay.

• Have fun and be polite – you’re one player playing a game with someone else. Make sure they have a good time, as well as yourself.

• Terrain is set based on the maps provided. Please arrange the terrain on your table according to the map in the tournament pack. If you have a

complaint or question, please see a judge.

• Give your opponent the opportunity to see every dice roll. They don’t have to watch but give them the courtesy of the opportunity to look.

• Mark where your unit started by some means. If not, then check with your opponent before moving that unit again after you begin to move

something else. They have the right to refuse you doing this unless marked.

• Set an expectation with your opponent on cocked dice before beginning the game. Will you reroll anything not flat, or anything not on the table surface? Letting people know prevents arguments later.

• If you are unsure of rules, please ask. We will help you with clarifications but will not provide suggestions. Ultimately, please bring your rulebooks

and have a thorough understanding of the game.

• Do not cheat. Blatant cheating will be grounds for an immediate loss at minimum.

• Slow-playing and accusations of such should be referred to a judge for monitoring. With 3:15 rounds, there is no reason why all 6 turns cannot be played. See below.

Sportsmanship

At the end of each game, you will be asked if your opponent displayed reasonable sportsmanship. Defined as rolling dice openly, measuring accurately, moving units accurately, playing with intent to finish within the time constraints, settling disputes reasonably. We expect everyone to demonstrate mature and reasonable sportsmanship. If 2 opponents score you as a bad sport, you will lose 5pts. If 3 score you down, you lost 10pts, and if 4 or more score you poorly, you will lose 20pts.

Players are encouraged to remind each other of the time left in the round before calling any judges over. We do not have the ability to post judges at multiple tables to watch everyone. If a judge is called and determines that you are intentionally slow playing, He will warn you once then deduct 2pts per warning after that. Judges rulings are final

Paint Scoring

Fully painted armies are required. Each miniature used, including raised units, must have a minimum 3 colors (ex:skin, garments, weapon) and the base painted. Painted armies will receive 20pts. Any army not meeting the requirement will receive 0pts.

Pairings

No grudges are allowed. All pairings will be made by Warscore.

Awards

1st , 2nd, 3rd place.

Refunds: No refunds after January 7th.

Lists and Submission

Lists are due from members of the Masters Committee on January 7th. Lists from non-Committee members are due

on January 12th. If you are planning to play in the Gemini or attempting to “play-in” to Masters, please submit lists for those events as well. You must submit a list beforehand even though there is a chance you may not make the cut.

Lists should be in text format like the following.

Magister (200 points), Thaumaturgy, General, Dark Shards 3 (30), Magical Heirloom (50).

List Submission Bonus and Penalties

List submitted on time and correct (+20 BP)

Lists submitted after the deadline (-10 BP)

Errors of less than 50 points, fixed and resubmitted within 2 days of deadline ( -0 BP )

Errors totaling from 51 to 199 points, fixed and resubmitted within 2 days of the deadline ( -5 BP )

Errors totaling 200 points or more, fixed and resubmitted within 2 days of the deadline ( -10 BP)

There will be a cash bar on site. For this reason, no coolers are allowed at the event.
