Upon completion of these school and community lessons and workshops, each participant will receive a donated 8x8 wooden block to create their own artistic representation of compassion based on what they learned. The final output of this project will be an installation of all art pieces around Bozeman. Who: All K-12 students in the Bozeman community, MSU community, families and community partners will be invited to participate through classroom lessons for teachers and schools that opt in as well as through public and community workshops and after-school programming. When: Curriculum, workshops, and artwork completion will happen in the summer/fall of 2018. The installation of all these pieces will happen in spring/summer 2019. Applying to be a Partner Artist for The Compassion Project The Partner Artist program is designed to support and empower local artists in the Gallatin Valley by commissioning artwork that celebrates, honors, describes, or envisions compassion as a quality and/or other presence in our community. The Partner Artist commissioned pieces will be shown in various TCP art installments as well as be part of an auction in spring of 2019 that supports The Compassion Project and other local philanthropic causes. Once artwork is received by TCP it will belong to the organization. Due to the square wooden pieces that will be used for the K-12 and community workshops, pieces are to be completed on a supplied 24x24x1in wooden block. In addition to completing the attached application, all artists must adhere to the following requirements:

- Partner Artists may utilize all visual arts media- Artwork must be attached or created directly on the supplied 24X24X1 wooden block.- Artwork should have no more than a 4-inch relief- Partner Artists must reside within the Gallatin Valley community- Artwork must be inspired by or created around the themes, mission, and outcomes of

The Compassion Project- Artwork must be original and ready to hang.

Between 10-15 artists will be chosen from their submitted materials in the accompanying application and compensated according to their artist status. Selected professional artists will be compensated $500 and selected art students will be compensated $250. Final pieces will be displayed at Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture in May and June of 2019. They will be part of the broader installation for The Compassion Project. The Partner Artist pieces will then be auctioned, and proceeds will go to Emerson.
