DESCRIPTION

What is that extra something that makes photographs truly remarkable and make the viewer take notice? Are the exotic locations and the strange people you visited? Is it the vibrant colours? Spectacular scenery can carry the image, but it’s not enough. In order to create a compelling image you need more. In this workshop, Yannis demonstrates certain design and art direction techiniques and assigns excercises that help students discover what it truy takes to make an image you can be proud of.

As an artistic medium, photography is a great way to express yourself. Photographers try to depict

something they’ve seen or imagined in a unique an interesting way. Most of them, however, will

see something pretty and record it on film or a sensor without even thinking of improving what they

see in the frame. But what is that extra something that makes photographs truly remarkable and

make the viewer take notice? Are the exotic locations and the strange people you visited? Is it the

vibrant colours? Spectacular scenery can carry the image, but it’s not enough. In order to create

a compelling image you need more. In this workshop, Yannis demonstrates certain design and art

direction techiniques and assigns excercises that help students discover what it truy takes to make

an image you can be proud of.
