  • Descriptive Text text is about sensory experience how something looks, sounds, tastes. Mostly, it is about visual experience but description also deals with other kinds perception.

    To describe a particular person, place, or thing in detail

  • Generic StructureIdentificationto identify phenomenon to be described

    Description to describe part, qualities, character

  • Kinds of DescriptiveArtistic Description (suggestive, evocative, and literary description).Appeals to the sense of beauty by stimulating the readers emotion and imagination, it also aims to give pleasure to the readers. The artistic description provides an additives and enhacement to descriptive process. This type of description aims to make the composition more appealing to the readers.

    Informative DescriptionRepresent the every detail of appearance of a person, place, or object with photographic accurancy for identification purpose. The informative description reveals what is the reality in particular with physical aspect.It describe exactly what author had seen, had smelled, or had experienced, giving emphasis to pysical aspects or considerations.

  • Language FeaturesUsing Simple Present TenseIn Simple Present, the action is simply mentioned and there is nothing being said about its completeness.     Identification

    Giant pandas are bear-like in shape with striking black and white markings. The giant pandas are hardly giants. It would take about forty (40) giant pandas to weight as much as one elephant. Adult giant pandas have a length of 160 to 180 centimeters. The weight of an adult male giant panda is normally between 80 and 125 kilograms with males typically weighing about 10% to 20% more than females about the same size as the american black bear.Description

    However, unlike the black bear, giant panda dont hibernate and cant walk on their hind legs. Giant pandas have ears have a massive head, heave body, short tail, rounded ears and plantigrade feet. The throat of giant panda has an esophaguswith a tough, horny lining to protect the bear from injury bamboo splinters. The stomach is similiarly protected with its thick muscular wall linings. Giant pandas have forepaws which are extremly flexible. They have an enlarged wrist bone that works in the manner of an opposable thumb.The basic fur color of the giant panda is white with black eye, pathces, ears, feet, chest and shoulders. Giant pandas generally move in a slow, determined manner. When startled they will move at a slow trot to escape danger. Giant panda with their sharp claws, are capable of climbing tree very easily. Giant panda cubs are born weighing 3 to 5 ounces or about 4-5 grams each, the cubs are born blind and hairless. At about 10 days the skin where the black hair will eventually grow turns gray.

    The differences between descriptive text and explanation text are:Generic structure : the descriptive text are identification and description, but the explanation text are general statement, explanation, and closing.Language features : the descriptive text is using 4 features ( past tense, action verb, adverb, and special technical terms), but the explanation text is using 8 features (present tense, action verb, passive voice, noun phrase, adveribal phrase, technical terms, general, and abstract noun, and conjunction of time and cause effect.
