• Husna Ubaid [S5 CSE A] andNowshad M U [S3 MTech] won “Federal Bank Speak for India “ block level
Contest and got entry to the next level
• Midhun E, Ajmal Akbar, and Althaf from S7 CSE A developed two Apps [ IEDC App, M Bin] for IEDC
• Muhassina [S5 CSE B] and Mohammed [S5 CSE A] developed a webpage for IEDC.
• Kishore [S1 CSE] received special appreciation award in APP EVOLVO competition conducted by IEDC
• Midhun E [S7 CSE B] AND Ashik mon [S3 CSE] participated HACKforINDIA conducted by Kerala
Startup Mission and developed a Municipal Waste Management App
• Mohammed Saleel [S5 CSE B] took part in the KTU zonal chess tournament and secured 4th position
• Cricket and football team of CSE reached Finals in sports meet conducted at RCET.

VOICE INAUGURATION
Department association “VOICE” activities inauguration for academic year 2017-18 conducted on
6-10-2017. Chief Guest for the function was Mr. Paulose Kuttampuzhi, Assistant Sub Inspector,
Traffic unit, Manjeri. He conducted a seminar on “Introduction about Information Technology Act”

2K17 EVENTS
ORGANIZED BY
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
BIGBITS
As a part of COGNITO 2K17 department of Computer Science and Engineering organized ahands-
on workshop on Machine Learning With R Programming(BIG BITS) on26/10/2017. The
session was handled by Ms. Amrutha S. She is certified in big data analytics and optimization from
internationalschool of engineering ,banglore. Ms. Sneha K and Ms. Deepa C M Asst. Professors
CSE were the staff coordinators. Mr. Asaf and Ms. Sindhu were the student coordinators. 40
Students from CSE participated in the workshop.
TREMORZ’ 17
As a part of COGNITO 2K17 department of Computer Science and Engineering organized
acomputer based game competition on 26/10/2017. 21 teams with 2 memebers each participated in
the gaming.3 teams are from the outside college.“Jassim Yusuf & Mohammed Fairs KK”, students
of MES College of Engineering, Kuttipuram won the game. Mr.Riyadh M. .(AP,CSE) and
Mrs,Prajitha M.V.(AP,CSE) were the staff coordinators . Mr.Praveen R(S7 CSE B) and
Ms.Aiswarya Raj(S7 CSE A) were the student coordinators.
MAGICA‘17
Magica 17’, a Spot game show which was organized by department of computer science on 25th
and 26th
Oct 2017 as part of Cognito 2k17.Ms. Ihsana Muhammed P and JencyBabu were the staff
coordinators.Ms. Namitha V and Ms. Aswathy P J were the student coordinators. Several students
and staff participated in MAGICA .Mr.Saleel student from computer science department and Ms.
Roshna student from from Civil Engineering department won the gameshow.
EXTRAVAGANZA 2K17
“EXTRAVAGNAZA-17”-Royal Fashionista contest is an elaborate and spectacular fashion
entertainment show hosted by Department of Computer Science and Engineering, RCET as a part
of techno-cultural fest COGNITO 2K17.Teams from 9 colleges participated in the show. The event
was on 27th
October 2017.Mr. Manu M r, Mr. FepslinAthgish Mon, Ms..Meera V M, Ms. Anitha L
and Mr. Sreenarayanan were the staff coordinators. Mr. ShaheenAzhadulla (S7 CSE B), Ms.Chinju
(S7 CSE A) Ms.Shaniya (S7 CSE-B) were the student coordinators. Team from Vimal College
were the winners. The Judgement team includes Mr. Jude Felix(Fashion Director and
Choreographer),Ms.RoshanaSulhana Rasheed (FashionProducer at Malabar international fashion
week and Model) and Mr. Sham Khan (Fashion Director and Choreographer).

E. Staff achievement:
Mrs. Amrutha George A. Asst. Professor, CSE attended a six days FDP on “Design and
Analysis of Algorithm” held at Sahrdaya Campus, from 27th
November, 2017 to 2nd
December,
2017.
Started a Short-term training on “Data Science” using Python in association with RACE and
Dept. of CSE on 15th
November 2017. The course duration is 60 hours. Mr. Sreeraj R, HOD
CSE handled the class.

Mr. Muhammed Favas, Mr AjilSurendran and Mr. Yadhukrishanan of 2016-20 batch participated in
KTU Cricket tournament held at NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad on 7th
November, 2017
Mr. Muhammed Favas, Mr. Mohammed Rishad, Mr. Muzammil A P, Mr. Suraj and Mr.
NakhilGopi of 2016-20 batch participated in intercollegiate E-zone football tournament held at
EKC Manjeri from 16th to 19th November, 2017 and secured 3rd
position .
