Department Activity 2016-17Industrial Visit

1. BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam limited), Ahmedabad

BSNL is most leading telecommunication company in India. A visit of BSNL has beenorganized in August 2016 with 30 students. This visit covers various communication subjects.Students had gain lots of theoretical and practical Knowledge

2. ISRO Space Exhibition, Ahmedabad

“Space Technology in the Service of Humankind”, these words are written on every Indiansatellite, to know all over world that India is superpower in area of space and satellite research. Aone day visit for 80 students of 3rd, 5th and 7th semester had been organized at ISRO Spaceexhibition in October, 2016.

3. IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertilizers Cooperative Limited), Kalol

Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) is one of India's biggestcooperative society. The main objective behind the visit was to make student aware about howvarious activities related to raw materials of urea fertilizers, production, marketing, financing andhuman resource are carried out in company. Visit had been organized on 21st June, 2016 alongwith 50 students.

4. Mother Dairy, Gandhinagar

A visit had been organized on 3rd March, 2017 to Mother Dairy located in Bhat,Gandhinagar. Mother Dairy was commissioned in 1974 as a wholly owned subsidiary of theNational Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The main objective behind the visit was to makestudent aware about how various activities related to receiving milk from tankers, production,dispatching, marketing, financing and human resource are carried out in company.

4. PRL Exhibition, Ahmedabad

An open exhibition has been arranged for college students at PRL on 27th and 28th February. Avisit has been planned for approximate 100 students of 2nd, 4th and 6th semester .In this exhibitionstudents have learned different science experiments

6. Amtech Solution, Gandhinagar

Amtech is one of leading company known for making variable frequency drives. A visit has beenplanned for 30 students of 6th semester at 6th February 2017.

7. MCBS(Modern Communication and Broadcasting System), Gandhinagar

MCBS is known for TATA Sky Dish manufacturing and other communication and embeddedrelated devices.30 students had been visited MCBS on 6th February 2017.

8. SAL Hospital, Ahmedabad

An industrial visit of SAL hospital had been organized on 4th march 2017.30 students of6th semester IC students had participated in visit. The main objective behind the visit was tomake student aware about how various activities related to patient’s illness diagnosis, ECGworking, EEG working, Power Distribution of hospital and human resource are carried out inhospital.

Workshop/Seminar

1. PCB Designing using DIP Trace software & implementation on hardware

A workshop on PCB designing had been organized on 30th July 2016 by the students of ECdepartment of SAL Institute of Technology and Engineering Research & Students of GEC Patan.An introduction of DIP Trace Software had been explained to all students. In second sessionhardware implementation of PCB has been given to students. A workshop had no registrationfees; even implementation of this PCB is at very low cost compare to market price

2. Workshop PLC Designing

A workshop on PLC had been organized from 16th January to 21st January, 2017 from

Decent Solutions for Instrumentation & Control Engineering students. The major activity at

DECENT Solutions till date deals with PLC/SCADA systems, HT C&R panels manufacturing

& engineering, RTCC Panels, Transformer Marshalling box, CCTV camera Systems,

control panels, PCC/MCC panels, APFC panels, AMF Panels, Mimic panels, Online testing

& calibration of Meters, Onsite Numerical relay testing, Complete Switch yard testing of CT,

PT, Transformer, CB, Isolator & C&R Panel, Switch yard Cable laying & testing. They have

excellent assembly facilities equipped with necessary tools, test & measuring instruments and

skilled manpower to assemble, test & supply any kind of control panels/systems. The idea behind

conducting workshop was to disseminate complete knowledge right from the basics to the

detailed wiring and connections to a PLC so that faculties, research scholars and students can

explore in this field and try their hands on in the detailed PLC-HMI setup.

3. A workshop on VLSI & system generator design

A three day workshop on VLSI Designing had been arranged by EC department of SALITEREC department & Techno samarthyam from 27th February to 1st march 2017.An expert cumguest lecture Mr. Jigar Mori from Techno Samrthyam had given excellent knowledge aboutVLSI design on Xilinx & MATLAB Software.20 students of EC department had participated inthis workshop.

4. A workshop on Image processing using MATLAB

A three day workshop on Image Processing had been organized by EC department of SALITER& Techno Samarthyam from 2nd March to 4th March 2017. An expert cum guest lecture Mr. JigarMori from techno samrthyam shared his knowledge about Image processing on MATLABSoftware. 25 students of EC department had participated in this workshop.

Achievements (Sports/Cultural Activity/Technical Activity)

1. 6th semester EC students Simrankaur janjua, Sonia Sadhwani and Divya Soni hadparticipated in various sports like Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, 400 mtr. Race in Sal Sports Carnival andSecured 1st rank in Kho-Kho, 2nd rank in Kabbadi and 3rd rank in 400 mtr. Race

2. 6th semester EC students Simrankaur janjua, Sonia Sadhwani and Divya Soni hadparticipated in GTU Youth festival SANCHAY-2016

3. Nidhi Mehta of 8th semester EC student stood 1st & won gold medal in 100m, 200m, 400m& Long Jump in SAL Sports Carnival. Also, she got sports woman of the batch tag since past4 years from 2013-2017. Francis Seeja and Jain Divya of 8th semester EC students has alsowon rank in various sports in Sal Sports Carnival.

4. Francis Seeja ,Jain Divya and Nidhi Mehta of 8th semester EC students has also won rankin various sports in Sal Sports Carnival

5. Nidhi Mehta of 8th semester student is a NCC cadet in Naval Unit, Ahmedabad since past 3years. All the cadets were invited to celebrate the Republic Day @ our college. On RepublicDay, she gave all the commands for Flag Hosting & Parade.

6. Wajra O’ Force Empowerment Foundation is an organization for Women. To createawareness among the society for women’s safety, the foundation has organized a tug of war, awar for women safety: JOIN US TO BREAK THE WORLD RECORD of the largest of WarTournament on 13th March’2016 in which approx. 6500 participants took part & among whichour college came at 4th Position.EC department student Nidhi Mehta had also participated inevent.

7. Nidhi Mehta of 8th semester EC students had given a seminar on how 1091 works & lectureon self-defense.1091 is a helpline for Women’s Safety.

8. Nidhi Mehta, Dhara Mavani & Twinkle Bhavsar of 8th semester EC students took part inProject Expo 2017 @ Sal Technical Campus. The Project is IOT Based Bird’s WaterManagement System. Nowadays, numerous birds are dying due to lack of water. It is a watermanagement system for birds which will ensure 24*7 availability of water of drinking water forbirds in any weather condition by just single click on User’s Android Mobile Phone from whereanywhere across the world using Internet Of Things (IOT). This project got media coverage also.

9. Divya Soni from 6th semester EC had participated and won 1st rank and gold medal in Judoat GTU Sports.
