Officially Alumnae

Big thank you goes to Jenna Smith and her dad for making us giant

lawn letters! They are so fabulous and we are so lucky to have great

parents in our AXiD family.

Also, thank you to Emily Ackerman for painting them our

colors - blue and gold!

Help me in welcoming our most recent alumnae: Liz Hitzel and Lauren Waterloo. At our last meeting we held our senior

ceremony where they officially became alumnae of the Delta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta.

Our chapter is going to miss all the sisters who are graduating very much, but here is a look at where they are going… Lauren Waterloo will be graduating with a degree in Psychology and a programs minor. She will be taking the GRE this fall for Graduate School for Occupational Therapy. Liz Hitzel will be graduating with a degree in Community Health Education and a minor in English. She will be working in Madison this summer where she will be a preceptor for the Public Health Department. Melo Lorence will be graduating with a degree in Archaeological Studies with Honors. After graduation she will be doing an archaeological field school at Fort McCoy. Ali Fuss will be graduating with a degree in Psychology minoring in Criminal Justice. Ali will be working for a year and then hopefully attending Graduate school for Clinical Psychology.

All Greek Study-a-thon

This was a new program that IFC and Panhellenic put on this year and it was a ton of fun. Every hour there was a study

break sponsored by each chapter. Pictured to the left, was two AXiD’s at the nerf gun war sponsored by Alpha

Sigma Phi.

Greek Awards Banquet

This year, Alpha Xi Delta took home two fantastic awards at the Spring Greek Banquet.

Megan ‘Melo’ Lorence won the Outstanding Alumnus Award and our chapter as a whole

won Outstanding Program for Light It Up Blue. We are so proud of all of our outstanding

alumnae and the efforts that our chapter has made with our Light It Up Blue Program.

Spring Chapter Retreat:

This year, for Spring Chapter Retreat we stayed the weekend at Mt. Olympus. It was a great time playing in the waterpark, going on go-carts, and speeding down the roller coasters. Not only that, but it was a great opportunity to bond and get a chance to get to know everyone on a deeper level. We are so thankful to the alumnae who donated money to make it possible for us to go, without your generous donations this year’s retreat would not have been what it was. Also, thanks to Emily Ackerman, our Chapter Life Vice President, for planning an amaxing spring retreat, and all the hard work that went into it.

Jayme is our brand new Membership Advisor, and our chapter could not be more excited. She initiated in Fall 2010 and was a great member of Alpha Xi Delta. We are so happy to have her back in the chapter and could not be more thrilled that she is helping out with recruitment. We are very excited about what we are going to be able accomplish next year and we can’t wait to see all the hard work pay off.

Welcome Jayme Henry

We will miss you!

Megan Lockwood and Melissa Starker will be transferring next semester. Megan is headed to UW-Stevens Point and Melissa is headed to UW-Whitewater. They have made a huge impact on our chapter and we are going to miss them a ton. We wish them the best of luck.

Relay for Life

This year Alpha Xi Delta participated in Relay for Life, along with three other chapters from UW-L. It was great staying up late, and hanging out with the chapters to raise

money/awareness for a great cause.

“No matter the letter, we’re all Greek together!”
