RACE 7 - MILES RULES steps up in class for her first start since a fast debut win July 17. Beyond her big number (75 Beyer), she also beat a goodfield. Third- and seventh-place finishers Faisca and Brazzle Dazzle returned to win; fifth place Lucky Sis won two starts later; eighth place Love at theBay was on her way to victory Aug. 13 when she broke down. The point is, MILES RULES defeated an above-average field of maidens, she has pointedspecifically to this stake since, and though based at Hollywood most of summer, she shipped to Del Mar for a good five-furlong work over the track lastweek. The speed of the speed, come and catch her. SWISS WILD CAT could get a good trip saving ground right behind the speed. A stakes winner hereJuly 23, she earned an improved figure finishing fourth against N1X fillies next out. Back with California-breds, she would be the likely beneficiaryif the pace unravels. VONN NEZ looms the uspetter. A full sister to stakes winner La Nez, VONN NEZ scratched from a maiden race Saturday to goinstead in this stake. Maidens trained by Eric Kruljac often improve second out; VONN NEZ should be a big number.
