ThemonthsDecem-ber 2015wasmainly occupied by End-term examinations, evalua-tionsandotheracademicactivities..WeconductedameetingoftheAcademicCounciloftheUniversityandBoardofStudiesmeetingsformostoftheSchools/Departmentsduring thismonthofDecember2015 fordiscussingand finalizingthecoursesandsyllabiforthecoursesoftheevensemesterof2015-16.TheBoardofstudies(BOS)wereheldforproposingtheminorchanges in the scheme likeadding thenewelectivesandupdating
thecontentof thesubjectsasperthe feedback receive fromexperts from industry Academia andAlumni.OnemajordecisionwastakenforimplementationofCBCSsystemofUGCfromtheevensemesterof2015-16 itself for BasicSciencesandHumanities. Wearesurethiswillbequiteexcitingforthefacultyandstudentsaswell.ManydepartmentsoftheUniversityhavedecidedintheirBoardofStudiesmeetingtoaggressivelyimplementpracticalorientationtothestudentsprojectsfrom3rdsemesteronwards.TheAdmissionPolicy2016hasbeenfinalizedandpublishedduringthismonth.Thisisexpectedtobeveryusefulfortheprospectivestudentsandtheirparents/guardians.TheNoveleventon“YoungAchieversAward”washeld inDecember2015,aimedtoencouragetheschoolstudentstoshowcasetheirtalents.230students fromvariousschools fromclassXtoXIIac-tively participated intheeventandshowcased their ideaswithmodels inscience,EngineeringandArchitecture.ANationalSeminaron“ProfessionalismandCodeofEthicsofTeacher”(PACET)wasorganizedbytheSchoolofEducationon11thDecember2015.Speakersaddressedtheissueofprofessionalism&codeofethicsinaverysensitivemanner.Ihopethatthisissueofe-ParigyanwouldbeofinteresttoyouandIagainrequestallthereaderstosendtheirfeedbacktous.

ANationalSeminaron “ProfessionalismandCodeofEthicsofTeacher” (PACET2015)wasorganizedbytheSchoolofEducationon11thDecember2015.Prof.MohammadAkhtarSid-diqueofJamiaMillia IslamiaandDr.VandanaSingh,AssociateProf.EducationDepartmentIGNOUwereinvitedasKeynotespeakerandplenaryspeakerrespectively.Boththespeakersaddressedtheissueofprofessionalism&codeofethicsinaverysensitivemanner.
TheseminarwasgracedbythepresenceofViceChancellor,Dr.R.K.Chauhan,Pro,ViceChan-cellor,Dr.G.V.RamarajuandtheDeans&HODsofLingaya’sUniversity.Thetotalnumbersofparticipantswereabout100.Aseparatesessiononpaperpresentationwasalsoconduct-ed,where important issues related to thecodeofethics werediscussedandcertificatesweredistributedtotheparticipants.
Theseminarwasfruitfulandeffectiveforallteachingprofessionals.

YoungAchieverAward2015
TheYoungAchieverAward2015wasplannedtoprovideanexposureoftheUniversityat-mospheretotheschoolstudentsofclassesXtoXII.Toachievethis,aThemeModelCom-petitionandvariousotherskillandcommunicationbasedcompetitionswereorganized.
Theeventwasorganizedon.11thDecember,2015.TheUniversityreceived21InnovativemodelsinScience,Engineering,Civil,Architecture,ElectricalEngineeringetcforCompeti-tion.The ideas includedSmartCity,SolarEnergy,Wastemanagementetc.Atotalof230schoolchildrenofclassesXth toXIIalongwith18 teachers toourCampus.NineeventswereorganizedsimultaneouslyinvariousvenuesoftheUniversity.Thefacultyinvolvedinorganizingtheseeventsalsotookthisopportunitytoexplainthestudentsaboutthecours-esbeingrunintheUniversityCampus.
After thecompletionof thisevent, the team took the studentsonaguided tourof theCampus.Thestudentsenjoyed theCampusvisitandhadseveralquerieswhichwerean-sweredbyaccompanying team.PrizedistributionwasdoneandCertificatesofParticipa-tionissued.
Postevent,itwasdecidedtotieupwiththeTraining&PlacementCelloftheUniversitytocon-ductCareerCounselingSessionsatSchools.Accordingly,thefirstsessionwasconductedbyMrs.UrveshChaudhery,Assistant Professor,Lingaya’s University atShikshaBhartiPublic School,Faridabadwhichwaswellreceivedwithgoodresponse.ThisschoolisthewinnerofThemeMod-elCompetitionheld inthe YoungAchieverAward2015competition.AnotherCareercounselingsessionwasconductedatSOSHermannGmeinerSchool,Faridabad.Theremainingschoolsareinthepipeline.

The12thMeetingoftheAcademicCouncilofLingaya`sUniversitywasheldonDecember23,2015(Wednesday)at10.30A.M.atLingaya`sUniversity,Faridabad.ThemeetingwasheldunderthechairmanshipofViceChancellor,ProfessorR.K.Chauhan.
DeanAcademicAffairs,ProfA.K.NadirapprisedtheCouncilofthevariousAcademicAc-tivitiesconducted intheuniversityafterthe11thAcademicCouncilmeeting.ViceChan-cellorbriefedthemembersoftheAcademiccouncilabouttheNAACvisitand informedtheCouncil that theUniversityhasbeenAccreditedSuccessfullywith “BGrade”. ItwasagainreiteratedbytheViceChancellorthatasdecidedinearlierAcademicCouncilMeet-ings,everydepartmentshallholdoneNationalConference/SeminareveryyearandoneInternationalConference/Seminaronceineverytwoyears.ItwasfurtheragreedthateventheNon-Teaching department such asAdministration, Finance and Transportation etc.mayorganizeconferenceeither individuallyor inassociationwithanAcademicdepart-ment.

ItwasdecidedtoimplementCBCSsystemasadvisedbyUGCforUGprogramsinPhysics,ChemistryandMathematics,English,B.Com (andBBA ifapplicable) fromAcademicYear2015-16,asrecommendedbythevariousBoardofstudies.
ThePh.DregulationsoftheUniversity“Lingaya`sPhDRegulation-2015”whichare in linewithUGCregulationswerediscussedanditwasdecidedthatall,PhDcasesshallbepro-cessedaccordigingtotheseregulationsonly.
Detailsofhigherstudiesbeingpursuedby facultymemebersandotherstaffmemebersfromvariousdepartmentswereplacedbeforetheAcademicCouncilforperusalandtheCouncilnotedthesame.ThevariousAwardsandFelicitationswonby facultymemeberswereplacedbeforetheAcademicCouncilandtheCouncilappreciatedtheachievementsofthefacultymemebersandstudents.ThevariousnewProgramsbeingintroducedfromnewsession2015-16werenotedandapproved.TheAcademicCalendarforvariousUG&PGcoursesbeingofferedbytheUniversitywasdiscussedandapproved.

AdmissionPolicy2016
All the candidates seekingadmission tovariousProgrammesof theUniversitymustapplyon-line/off-lineaspertheprescribedformatavailableontheWebsite/InformationBrochure.Allad-missionsshallbemadepurelyonmeritbasiswiththeprocessofadmissionasgivenbelow:
A.AdmissiontoPh.DProgram
1.Eligibility
(i)Ph.D inEngineering /Technologyor relateddisciplines, thecandidatemusthaveminimum60%marksorminimumgradepointequivalentto60%marksinM.E/M.Techintheconcernedsubjectorrelated/allieddisciplines.
(ii)Ph.D inManagement,PharmacyorNon-EngineeringDisciplines,thecandidate(s)musthaveminimum55%marksorequivalentGradeinPGDegreeintheconcernedsubjectorrelated/allieddisciplines.
2.AdmissionProcess:TheadmissiontoPh.DisthroughaprocessofAdmissionTestfollowedbyInterviewasdetailedbelow:
(i)TheinterestedcandidatesshallapplythroughaformalApplicationForm,asprescribed,availa-bleontheWebsiteoftheUniversityorfromtheAccountsSectionoftheUniversity.
(ii)AdmissionEntranceTestshallbeconductedbytheUniversityaspersyllabiofvariouscoursesavailableontheWebsiteoftheUniversity.Afterthewrittentest,interviewshallbeconductedforthecandidateswhoqualifythewrittenexamination.Theweightagesforthewrittentestand In-terviewshallbe50%each.Minimumqualifyingmarksforthewrittentestaswellasforinterviewshallbe40%.
(iii)CandidateswhohavequalifiedinUGC/CSIR(JRF)/NET/SLET/GATE/M.Phil.(AsaRegularCandidate fromUGCRecognizedUniversity foradmission tonon-engineeringdisciplines),maynotberequiredtoappearfortheEntranceTestoftheUniversity.However,theirappearance inthe interview shallbemandatory foradmission.Theweightage for the Interview in suchcasesshallbe100%.MinimumqualifyingmarksfortheInterviewshallbe50%.
(iv)AmeritlistwillbepreparedDepartmentwiseforadmissionbasedonthemarksobtainedintheEntranceTestand Interviewor Interview forcandidateswhohavebeenexempted fromtheEntranceTest.
(v)Admissionisopentwiceinayear-WinterSession(Dec-January)andSummerSession.(June-July).TheexactdatesforthesameshallbenotifiedontheWebsiteoftheUniversity.

2.Admissionshallbebasedonmerit inJEEAdvancedfollowedbyJEEMainsfortherestoftheseatsfollowedbymeritin10+2(physics,chemistryandmathematics)fortherestoftheseatsfortheapplicationsreceivedbythespecifieddate(s)ofreceiptofapplications.
3.LateralEntry:Minimum60%PassmarksinPolytechnicDiploma(Engg/Tech)orminimum55%passmarksorequivalentinB.Sc.
4.Forgettingscholarship,thecandidatesneedtoappear intheScholarshipTestconductedbytheUniversity.
