Deception
(1) The Very Elect - They know good and feel they must get others to
do good rather than drawing others to Him.
(2) The rest of those who are not simple - Believe they must spend
their Christian life only struggling between good and evil. This
struggle can steal our time so we cannot remain in him. (We don’t do
the good we know the Lord would have us do).
(3) The simple - Do not generally know the difference between good and
evil. --- They tend to be immune to hating evil.
(4) We deceive ourselves - When the struggle between good and evil
becomes all there is then we can think good is winning in our life,
then we could despise others: but if we think others are doing evil, we
tend to judge them.--- We are to be humble (not think we are good)
and not judge (krino) others but judge ourselves and then learn how to
judge (diakrino) correctly.
(5) Evil Men and Seducers - Love evil and hate good.

Areas of Deception
(1) Religious Deception – creating an impression of how good one is.
Wants to leave external and internal impressions.
(2) Doctrinal Deception – Usually occurs when we leave the plain
meaning of the scripture.
(3) Ethical Deception – Amos: Baskets with false bottom. Deceiving
people for personal advantage.
(4) Moral Deception – So easy to blame others for our problems.
(Immoral also means we take advantage of others for our advantage.)
(5) Intellectual Deception – Hearing human teachings as truth when they
are in error.
(6) Mystical Deception – Being mystical or spooky in words and actions.
(7) Sexual Deception – A direct relationship between having a need and
hearing a voice (saw wallet – heard a voice – said arise and eat).
(8) Spiritual Deception – Spirit and truth – objective and subjective.

Predestination

Precautions
(Insights)
1. Mature
trust.
To be willing and obedient
to truth (giving attitude).
To do what God
Wants.
Seek the Lord.
2. Pressures
Come.
To help others draw close to
Truth.
Increasing the doing to the
expense of being.
Mark 4:19
And the cares of this
world, and the
deceitfulness of riches,
and the lusts of other
things entering in, choke
the word, and it
becometh unfruitful.
(Be Careful)
3. Change
priorities.
To help others do truth.
Pride of accomplishment.
Obadiah 3
The pride of thy heart hath
deceived thee.
When you think you
stand lest you fall.
4. Hears
Truth.
Wants to embrace truth
but now uses truth
rather than truth
becoming a part of
Him.
(Paratruth)
(Paragiving)
Passes on knowledge not
understanding.
A-LOGOS
We should judge
ourselves against
Truth.
(Not be brutish)
i.e. not receiving
reproof.)
5. Accept
teaching
and ideas
that “Do”
for God or
where God
must
perform.
Ephesians
4:19
To get truth working for me.
2 Peter 3:17
Ye therefore, beloved,
seeing ye know these things
before, beware lest ye also,
being led away with the
error of the wicked, fall from
your own stedfastness.
Push the doing side of God’s
things (Works).
We want blessing

(Spiritual Price).
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily,
while it is called To day; lest
any of you be hardened through
the deceitfulness of sin.

Predestination
(Attitude/Thinking)
Precautions
(Insights)
1. We
settle
back
in
religion.
Feel that we need
attention.
Feel we are fairly solid.
“People should be more
friendly.”
Ungratefulness.
Start to see people’s
Faults.
Be careful when you
think you stand lest you
fall.
2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved,
seeing ye know these
things before, beware
lest ye also, being led
away with the error of
the wicked, fall from
your own stedfastness.
2. Outside
pressures
“Draw” us
to not seek.
Seeking Personal
fulfillment.
Seek more
acknowledgement.
Back off from Christ.
But become more vocal
or religious.
Over involved in cares.
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the
latter times some shall
depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines of
devils;
3. “Works
set in”
which is
“doing a
good thing
for
Jesus sake”
when Jesus
did not tell
us to do it.
Desires want to be
fulfilled.
Have a desire to have.
Over involvement in
cares leaves us desiring to
have fruit of these cares
thus, we think we
“deserve” and seek after
things.
Riches.
Become more religious.
“Do” rather than become.
“It takes both.”
Want truth to work for us
rather than us
conforming to truth.
Stubbornness.
Matthew 13:22 He also that received
seed among the thorns is
he that heareth the word;
and the care of this
world, and the
deceitfulness of riches,
choke the word, and he
becometh unfruitful.

5. People teach
us from their

What can I hear
to justify my

“We think” It is easier
to accept the ways of
men than God.
(There is either
satisfaction to the flesh
or denial to the flesh in
man’s ways.)
God wants us first; then
these.
We want these our way
first.
